The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) has announced the opening for applications for the "ECA Fellowships for Young African Professionals." The program aims to engage young Africans in skill and capacity development for Africa's social dimensions. It focuses on training and mentorship to cultivate highly skilled human capital for success in research, international development, and the public sector. Additionally, the program seeks to provide practical experience for young professionals in academia, the public sector, or international development to foster a community of African experts dedicated to contributing to the continent's development priorities. Ultimately, the program aims to enhance the fellows' skills and capacity. Applicants for the Fellowship must be under 35 years old, possess a Master's Degree or related Advanced degree, or be currently enrolled in a PhD program. Interested persons should have experience in academic research or work and proficiency in English or French. In addition, applicants must submit a research proposal of at least 1,000 words in their preferred thematic area and three letters of reference or recommendation. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eepzPq2F

5 Million #Ethiopian #Coders Program launched. #Ethiopia launched the“5 Million #Ethiopian #Coders” program which is a collaborative digital skills initiative between the Governments of #Ethiopia & the #UAE, designed to empower the next generation of #Ethiopians to actively participate in the growing #digital economy. የትምህርት ነገር ⁉ ተመራቂወች እንኳን ደስ አላችሁ! በቅርቡ የኤሌክትሪክ ማከፋፈያ ሶኬት ለመግዛት ወደ አንድ ሱቅ ጎራ አልኩኝ። ሱቅ ውስጥ የነበረው አንድ ከ12 ዓመት እድሜ ያልበለጠ ታዳጊ ነበር።   ማከፋፈያ እንዳለው ጠየቅሁት፤ አወ አለ አለኝ። አሳየኝ አልኩት ፤ አሳየኝ። ያሉትን አማራጮች ሁሉ አሳየኝ።   የተሻለ ያልኩትን መረጥኩ። ሂሳብ ጠየቅሁ፤ ሂሳብ ነገረኝ። ከፈልኩ።   ከዛ ወደ ቀልቤ ስመለሰ የማከፋፈያው ገመድ እኔ ለማስቤው አገልግሎት አይሆንም። የኤለክትሪክ ገመዱ አጭር ስለነበር። ❓   ከዛም ይቅርታ ገመዱ አጭር ነው አልኩትና ገመዱ ረዘም ያለ ተመሳሳይ ማከፋፈያ እንዲሰጠኝ ጠየኩት ። አልነበረውም። እኔ የከፈልኩትን መልሶልኝ ሌላ ሱቅ ለመሞከር ነው የማስበው።   እሱስ❓   እሱማ ፈጠን ብሎ፤ ትንሽ ጊዜ ከጠበከኝ እና ለተጨማሪ ገመድ ከከፈልክ ማከፋፈያውን ፈትቼ በረጂም ገመድ እቀይርልሃለሁ አለኝ። አንተ❓አልኩት፤ አዎ አለኝ። ገረመኝና እሺ አልኩት ።   የገመድ ከፈልኩ ። በ5 ደቂቃ ውስጥ ሌላ ገመዱን ቆርጦ፤ ማከፋፈያውን ፈቶ፤ እንደገና በአድሱ ገመድ አስሮ፤ ሰጠኝ።   ☑ ለጊዜው በጣም ጎበዝ ብየው ማከፋፈያውን ይዤ ወደ ቤቴ ተመለስኩ።   መንገድ ላይ እያለሁ ብዙ ነገር ማሰብ ጀመርኩ። የመሸጥ አቅሙን ለጊዜው ተውትና፤ የእጆቹን የመስራት ፍጥነት አስቡት።   እኔ የኤሌክትሪካል ሙያ መሃንድስ ነኝ ፤ ዩንቨርሲቲ ከገባሁ በኋላ ነው እሱ አሁን የሰራውን የሞከርኩት ፤ ለዛውም ለገበያ የማይበቃ።   ሌላ ገጠመኝ፡ በአንድ ወቅት ከኤሌክትሪክ ጋር የተገናኘ የፕሮጀክት ፓይለት/ማሳያ እየሰራሁ እያለ፤ አንድ ትልቅ ግቢ ያላቸው እናት አግኝቼ የገጠመኝን አስታወሰኝ።   የቤቱ ባለቤት እናት ሁለት የመብራት ቆጣሪ ነበራቸው፤ ግቤው ውስጥ ብዙ ቤት ስለነበረ። አንደኛው ቆጣሪ አይሰራም፤   ባለሞያ ነው ብለው ስለገመቱ ችግሩን ነገሩኝና ለማየት ሞከርኩ። ከዛም እናቴ ፡ አስተካክልልወት ነበር ግን ምንም የስራ መሳሪያ አልያዝኩም አልኳቸው። ከዛም ቆይ አሉና ቤታቸው ገብተው ሙሉ ሻንጣ የስራ መሳሪያ ይዘው መጡ። እያስተካከልኩ እያለ፤ አዬ ልጄ የእኔም ልጅ እኮ ኤሌክትሪካል ምህንድስና ነበር የተመረቀው አሉኝ፤ እና እሱ አያስተካክለውም ነበር ስላቸው? አይ ልጄ እሱ ይሄን ገመድ ከእኔ የባሰ ነው የሚፈራው አሉኝ። ደገሙና ይሄ ይቅርና ስራ በፈለገ አሉኝ። እኔም እንደ ቀልድ ምግብ አይስጡት ብዬ መርቀውኝ ሄድኩኝ።   ሁለቱን አነጻጸርኳቸው፤ የትምህርት ሂደቱን አሰብኩት ፤   በየ አመቱ ይሄን ያህል ተማሪ ወደቀ ከምንል፤ ምን አለ የተለየ መንገድ ብንሞክር እላለሁ፤ ሁል ጊዜ ።   በማህበራዊ ሚዲያ የምናያቸውን የቻይና ታዳጊወች ባየሁ ቁጥር፤ ያን ትንሽ ልጅ ትምህርት አግዞት የተሻለ መሃንድስ ቢሆን ብዬ ተመኘሁ። ለማንኛውም ትምህርት ደገፈንም አልደገፈንም ሂወት የእያንዳንዳችን ጉዳይ ነው። በግላችን መጣር ምርጫ የለውም። ለአዲስ ኮሌጅ ተመራቂዎች እንኳን ደስ አላችሁ እላለሁ! አሁን ስራ ለመፈለግ ስትሞክሩ ብዙ ሰው ስራ የለም ነው የሚላችሁ፤ እኔ ግን ስራ አለ ባይ ነኝ። Instead, I say Lower your expectation. Most Marketers don't understand positioning: - They run a 'brainstorming workshop' - They write fancy headlines into strategy slides - They store the deck in a folder, and no one ever use it "Yes we did our positioning, go check file number 57 from August 2021" The truth is that you don't choose a positioning - you forge it. Creating a strategy deck where you write "we are revolutionizing the tech industry with AI" will not make it a reality. (Big news: writing something on a slide doesn't make it magically appear in real life.) When it comes to positioning, here is what truly matter: - The way the market perceives you. - The position you actually take among competitors. - The place your brand occupies in your customers' mind. It's not about what YOU think, it's about what THEY think. Now don't get me wrong, deciding on a positioning is the 1st step: 1. Prioritize one specific opportunity to address 2. Craft your position to solve your audience's problem 3. Understand the competitor landscape 4. Choose a positioning angle and make it clear → This is the strategy groundwork. Mandatory. But the process doesn't stop here. Then you need to: 5. Constantly repeat the same messages across channels That's how your turn your idea (how you want to be positioned) into a reality (how the market actually perceives you).
