Huge congratulations to the winner of the #RLA Resilience Innovation Competition! The USAID Ethiopia Resilience Learning Activity (RLA) is thrilled to announce Resilience in Pastoral Areas (RIPA)-North as the winner of the Resilience Innovation Competition! The winner of the competition was announced at the Economic Growth and Resilience Collective Action Platform Learning Event held on March 12th and 13th 2024. The process was highly competitive with 10 submissions all addressing highly complex development and resilience challenges through innovative approaches. RIPA North’s Vertically Integrated Livestock Market Model, stood out amongst the group. The vertically integrated livestock market model helps strengthen the structure of livestock supply chains by creating linkages and integrating services across the supply network. This fosters trust-based relationships between regional traders, female pastoralists, and other actors involved. The ultimate goal? To reduce uncertainty and risk for everyone involved.
