This is the first time the ICO Congress is being hosted on the African continent, marking a significant step in bridging the gap between optics research and Africa’s developmental needs. The event is covering a wide array of topics, ranging from fundamental optics research to its practical applications. As an International Member of ICO, EOS is aligned with ICO’s mission to advance and promote optics globally. ICO is an Affiliated Commission of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) and a Scientific Associate of the International Council of Science (ICSU), dedicated to the international progress and diffusion of knowledge in the fields of optics and photonics.
