We are extremely proud to support young talents on their journey to becoming professionals. In November 2024, Aapo Pesonen made history by becoming the first laboratory technician to graduate through this new apprenticeship model. 🥇   In October 2023, Kemianteollisuus - Chemical Industry Federation of Finland and the Ammattiliitto Pro - Trade Union Pro presented a new apprenticeship model for laboratory technicians designed to alleviate the labour shortage. Five companies and four cooperating educational institutions, including Savon ammattiopisto, participated in the pilot experiment, and the first laboratory students entered the workplaces in the fall of 2024. Torstai 23.1. oli täynnä merkityksellisiä kauppakamarikohtaamisia ja keskusteluja. Kauppakamarimme hallitusten ja valiokuntien puheenjohtajat kokoontuivat pohtimaan kasvustrategiamme toimeenpanoa ja painopisteitä alkavalle vuodelle. Keskuskauppakamari (Finland Chamber of Commerce)'n Juho Romakkaniemi alusti aamuun kauppakamarien yhteistä missiota sekä geopolitiikan näkymiä Suomen elinkeinoelämälle. Päivän kohokohtiin kuului myös yhteistapaaminen Pohjois-Karjalan kauppakamari - North Karelia Chamber of Commerce'n ja Savo-Karjalan kansanedustajien kanssa, jossa vaihdettiin ajatuksia ja suunniteltiin tulevaa yhteistyötä investointien sekä kasvun kiihdyttämiseksi. It is interesting to relocate somewhere where todays´ temperature of -5 °C (23 °F) is considered unseasonably warm. I am happy and proud to announce that I have joined FinVector Oy in the role of Engineering Director. I am impressed by the site but even more so the people. Their warm welcome has certainly made this transition a good one. I look forward to working with Matthias Krieger and the whole FinVector team on the mission to Deliver for Patients in the interesting field of gene therapy.
