Our new Sustainability Report is out, recapping the year 2023! Get your own copy in our booth at Eurobike (12.1, A06) or read it on our website! It's a short and easy read that gives insight into the sustainability work done at Herrmans during 2023; with results from our carbon footprint measurements and how our material research is manifesting in the Nucore grip series and Nordic front and rear lights. We also talk about what we do to maintain a healthy work environment, why we prioritize sustainability and how we balance people, planet and profit in a volatile market environment.

This year at EUROBIKE Show we also introduce our brand new Battery Pack! The Nordic Energy battery pack is compatible with all e-bike front lights in the Nordic series. With this simple solution, you can easily add a Herrmans e-bike front light to your bike, whether you have an e-bike or not. You can use the battery to power a stronger light on your MTB during dark trail rides, or add extra light on your urban or touring bike for better safety and visibility. The battery (11.1 V, 5000 mAh / 56 Wh) gives generous usage times for each charge, and comes with all necessary cables included - you charge the battery by USB-c, and fit it to the top tube of your bike with velcro straps. Usage time estimates (subject to climate conditions): Nordic MR5: ~22h, Nordic MR9: ~17h, Nordic MR10: ~14h, Nordic MR10+: ~13h low beam ~6h high beam, Nordic Pro: 5,5h, Nordic Xtreme: ~6h low beam, ~3,6h high beam. We are finally switching on power to the brand new Nordic Carrier Plus! At EUROBIKE Show we introduce our latest rear light for carrier integration, designed with a completely new modern Industrial look. Sensor-controlled brake light and wide side visibility guarantee the cyclist will be seen in every condition. We included influences from the car industry, where lines and shapes of lights create striking appearances, both to enhance the looks of the bike, but above all to keep the rider safe. The housing of Nordic Carrier Plus is made of recycled plastic, to bring the carbon footprint down. According to our guidelines for sustainable design, we use recycled materials wherever we can. We recently had the pleasure of having a trainee from the Hanken Business Lead program working with us! The program is a great opportunity both for the company and the trainee, and we highly recommend it. Judith Anong Teche Judith, originally from Cameroon, supported our finance team and tells her story:   “My greatest motivation to join the business lead program was to integrate meaningfully into the Finnish work life. I want to be able to tell not just myself but others that the white-collar jobs are also possible for immigrants.   I’m an accountant with 7 years’ working experience, and my tasks at Herrmans included bank reconciliation, booking AP into the accounting system, and recording incoming and outgoing payments from the bank statement into the accounting system etc. I also came up with some proposed solutions to some reoccurring challenges in Ap booking and delinquent credit notes. Critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork and good interpersonal /communication are some of my skills. Putting a smile on the faces of people is what makes work meaningful to me at the workplace.   This internship opened me up to a valuable network chain and improved my interpersonal skills. Getting to rub minds with like-minded professionals ignited the pursuit of my career goals even more. It was so interesting to work in an international company with Finnish/Swedish speaking colleagues. It exposed me to the Finnish work culture and yes, the cultural differences and more, and that prepares me better for my integration.   Herrmans gave me a very conducive work environment with amazing colleagues who were always willing to help, all I needed to do was ask. They are such loving people who gave me a positive feeling of the Finnish work culture.   My experience with the business lead program has been inspiring. To all the highly educated foreigners seeking work experience in Finland; it is possible. Get the right information, be open to change and remain positive!”   Sebastian Lassila, Controller at Herrmans adds: “I had the pleasure to work with Judith and was very pleased with her performance. With a great attitude to work and the willingness to learn new things every day, you can achieve much in a short period of time. And that is just what Judith did! Her close attention to detail and understanding of the business process makes her an asset for any financial team. The right-to-repair directive has just been approved! Sari Noromies gives us a quick summary of what this means. Product design will definitely be the key! This is very positive news, and it will be interesting to see what new smart solutions will appear in the coming years, to make products easier to repair.

We like celebrations at Herrmans 😃 Someone’s birthday, coming back from a trip abroad or celebrating an anniversary at work are all good reasons for bringing candy or baking a cake 😉 We recently held a warehouse party to celebrate spring and our fantastic team. HBC Awards is an annual tradition, and this year our staff voted Tina Gäddnäs as “Team player of the year” and the CEO award went to Sebastian Wedhorn for “Relentless Efforts”. Two amazing people who bring joy, warmth, professionalism and lots of grit to Herrmans Bike Components! Thank you for everything you do ❤️

Just a bit more than a month to go until the Eurobike Show in Frankfurt!
