✨ The EuroHPC Summit 2025 has come to an end! What a great last day we had starting with Nils Helset from DigiFarm and Lucio Mayer from the Department of Astrophysics, University of Zurich, showcasing their groundbreaking research powered by LUMI. ⚛️ Quantum computing was more and more prominent throughout the conference, with a dedicated quantum insights area. One of the showcased systems was LUMI-Q project's quantum computer, named VLQ, hosted at IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center. 💡Pekka Lehtovuori, Director of Advanced Computing Facility at CSC - IT Center for Science introduced the EuroHPC Federation Platform — an initiative coordinated by CSC that will serve as a one-stop-shop for accessing and utilizing EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) systems and services to their fullest potential. ➡️ Presentations from the sessions are available at: https://lnkd.in/dFY9mZUr 👏 It has been an action-packed three days in beautiful Krakow, with a record-breaking 1,000+ participants! 💻The second day of the EuroHPC Summit 2025 had a focus on HPC talent acquisition at the opening plenary and at the career fair in the end of the day. A variety of engaging parallel sessions took place, covering topics such as future technologies and industry needs for the European HPC/AI infrastructure. One session was dedicated to EU's flagship initiative, Destination Earth. 🌐 – If we think about Climate Digital Twin part of the Destination Earth, we can currently perform simulations at 5km spatial resolution — already extremely high when compared to other current climate models. But with the upcoming LUMI-AI system, we will be able to achieve 1km resolution. So AI Factories can really help to resolve issues and answer questions like what kind of impacts climate change has on local levels worldwide, said Jenni Kontkanen, Development Manager for Digital Twin Technologies at CSC - IT Center for Science.

☀️ First day of the EuroHPC Summit Week 2025 was a great success, dedicated to the upcoming European AI Factories, the event saw lively presentations and discussions on the topic. CSC - IT Center for Science's Managing Director Kimmo Koski was part of the "AI Factories and Cloud Integration: Unlocking Scalable and Flexible AI Workflows" session. 👋 The EuroHPC Summit 2025 has officially kicked off, and LUMI is here in Krakow! We had a fantastic start to the event with our DemoLab, where the talented EUMaster4HPC students showcased the demos they created — all running on LUMI. ❄️ A huge thank you to Valerio Grillo, Arianna Amadini, Dimitar Penkov, Xavier L. and Ekkehard Steinmacher for their impressive work on the demos! 👏 We’re also very grateful to Maciej Szpindler and Emmanuel Ory from the LUMI User Support Team for their mentorship and support — it was a great collaboration. Looking forward to more exciting days at the summit!

The EUSAiR project supports and coordinates the deployment of regulatory sandboxes for Artificial Intelligence in EU countries. The project creates controlled environments where innovative AI systems can be tested and validated before entering the market.   🔍 A key element involves aligning with Digital Europe initiatives to conduct diverse pilot tests in large-scale public digital infrastructures, ensuring comparative analysis and independent, effective engagement with national authorities. – AI regulatory sandboxes are an important tool to accelerate the development of AI applications in demanding areas. Sandboxes need to be integrated into wider AI development environments to unleash their full potential. The LUMI supercomputer will fully support AI sandboxes, enabling a smooth transition between sandboxes and LUMI, said Aleksi Kallio, Director of LUMI AI Factory Services. 🤝 The project is built around Europe’s supercomputing centers, with key participants from Italy (ICSC - Centro Nazionale di Ricerca in HPC, Big Data e Quantum Computing), Spain (Barcelona Supercomputing Center), and Finland (CSC - IT Center for Science).
