At #MWC25, our roving reporter spoke with Nokia’s Ari Kynaslahti, Mobile Networks CTO, who is also a board member of the AI-RAN Alliance. These were the key points that Ari highlighted: AI for RAN: Already today, we use AI extensively in our commercial solutions to enhance RAN performance and efficiencies, and steer industry development toward even more AI capabilities in 6G. AI on RAN: As users are adopting more AI-augmented devices and applications and uploading their content to the cloud for AI processing, it has a much bigger impact on uplink data traffic than earlier mobile network use cases. AI and RAN: We are using the same infrastructure for processing AI and RAN workloads.
