Valmet to supply critical control valve solutions for Fortum’s district heating decarbonizing projects in Finland: https://lnkd.in/dEJZzd8k 🏭🌱 Our valves will control the flow of district heating water in Fortum’s new heat pump plants in the planned data center areas in Espoo and Kirkkonummi, and in an electric boiler plant in Nuijala, Espoo. The Nuijala plant will enhance the district heating network’s efficiency with an electric boiler/heat storage combination, while the pump plants will recycle emission-free excess heat from data centers into the network. Fortum’s district heating production has been coal-free since spring 2024 and reaches carbon neutrality by 2030. This collaboration highlights our commitment to innovative and sustainable solutions. For example, I have seen 130-year-old technical drawings in the US. It was amazing to think that someone, so many years ago, sat there with a sharpened pencil, bringing those insights to life through their drawings. Beyond Circularity 2024: A Virtual Tour of Innovation and Collaboration! 🤝 As summer turned to fall, we hosted #Valmet's annual #BeyondCircularity ecosystem event. This time, we took a virtual tour to connect partners from Finland and abroad. Broadcast from Wolttigroup studio in Helsinki on October 3, the event saw nearly 300 participants joining in. Event highlights included: ✔️ Beyond Circularity on tour: Janne Pynnönen, Virpi Puhakka, and Viivi Villa-Nuottajärvi shared good progress - we already collaborate with more than 280 ecosystem partners in 35 projects. ✔️ Navigating the Ecosystem: Valmet’s stream leaders Henrik Wallmo, Sampo Immonen, Jukka Ylijoki and Karoliina Haapaniemi gave highlights from their streams.
