#biomanufacturing: a new impetus for #fermentations and industrial biotechnologies ➡️ Despite some recent setbacks, there are signals that Biomanufacturing (finally another way of talking about industrial fermentations and bioconversions) is becoming one of the challenges of reindustrialization based on a non-fossil carbon. The American impetus 🇺🇸 in 2022 (executive order on Advancing Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing) and the European initiative 🇪🇺 in response in 2024 are the main indicators of a political will/strategy. All this stems from impressive and significant scientific and technological progress in the field of synthetic biology, which is giving new perspectives and opportunities to industrial fermentations. Today, many projects led by startups or other companies are reaching the stage /gate of industrial demonstration. However, as we can see, the transition to the industrial stage is not (so) simple. There are economic and commercial reasons for this, linked in part to regulations that don't offer enough incentive, but there's also an essential"industrial learning". At ARD, our 35 years of experience have made us experts in bioprocess #industrialization. Our tools (BioDemo in particular, with 2 fermentation lines of 180 and 220 m3 / DSP) - of industrial size - are open to those with industrial projects in the fermentations and industrial biotechnologies sector. The "valley of death" (the path/gap to industrial production) is not only a question of access to markets and financing, but also a question of industrial know-how. Wherever you are, wherever you are in your development (before or after POC), come and meet us to discuss your projects, and we'll be delighted to advise you and help you make your project a success!
