    “One of the goals of The Value of Beauty is to gather and upskill our entire value chain, developing collaboration. We want to accelerate change and transform the way we work together as an ecosystem.” said François Tassart, CEO of Albéa Group, as he kicked off the third day of LUXEPACK Monaco in an exclusive conference. The Value of Beauty is an alliance of cosmetic industry players who are committed to raise awareness on the importance of the beauty and personal care value chain at European level. Yesterday, Gilles Swyngedauw, Vice President of CSR and Product Sustainability, Albéa Cosmetics & Fragrance took part in a talk on circular innovation “Enhancing Recyclability in Beauty Packaging” along with Vincent Colard (Citeo), Stéphanie Lumbers (FEBEA), Regine Fretard (LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics Research) and hosted by Eva Lagarde (re-sources.co). Speaking of the RECYMakeUp initiative led in partnership with Citeo, Gilles Swyngedauw said: “We are going to succeed and make 100% of our packaging recyclable. In two years, we shall have all the necessary guidelines. The guide on plastic packaging recyclability will highlight all stumbling blocks to show what to avoid and what solutions can be envisioned.     We had an incredible first day at LUXEPACK Monaco! Charlotte Wastyn, Key Account Manager at Albéa Cosmetics & Fragrance, went on stage with Chloé Mola, Packaging Engineer MakeUp at Puig to receive the prestigious Formes de Luxe Award 2024 in the Finishing and Decoration category for the packaging of Louboutin Beauty's Teint Fétiche Baume de Teint. “Many thanks to Puig and their team members for trusting us with this technical challenge. This award also goes to Albéa Indonesia and my colleagues in the Semarang plant which hosts our center of excellence for custom compacts.” "This product showcases beautiful engraving work that replaces handmade embroidery found on the previous version. Even though the production transitioned to a more industrial process, the final product is quite similar," said jury member Stephane Bernelas (LVMH). Congratulations to all the 2024 winners. Concerning the Tube activity, Barbara de Saint Aubin, CEO of Albéa Tubes, and I want to transform the organisation worldwide. Instead of the current regional organisation, in the future, we aim to have an organisation based around the two major tube markets, beauty on the one hand, and healthcare, including oral care and pharmaceuticals, on the other. The reason for this is that these customers have different needs. [...] We want to be even more responsive to the needs of our customers in these two markets that are moving at different speeds. For example, in terms of eco-design, in the beauty industry, the use of PCR already amounts to more than 8%. This is less the case for toothpaste, but we are making progress on recyclability with Greenleaf. For our C&F business, we are looking to develop local production. The idea is to accelerate regionalisation or to have hybrid models between Asia and Europe, to improve agility and competitiveness for our local customers. Overall, we also need to ensure synergies between each of our activities, so the aim is to step up collaboration between the Tube and C&F teams on all our strategic moves (sales, procurement, CSR, data, HR...).
