Last week, Chief Executive Group honored AMD’s Lisa Su as the 2024 CEO of the Year at an inspiring event held in the heart of New York City at Nasdaq MarketSite. Nominated by her peers and fellow leaders, Lisa was recognized for her remarkable vision and transformative impact on the tech industry. During the ceremony, last year's honoree, Ed Bastian of Delta Air Lines , and our Co-Head of the Americas and Asia, Andy Eversbusch, paid tribute to Lisa’s accomplishments. AlixPartners CEO Simon Freakley shared valuable insights in the CEO Roundtable discussion on leadership and resilience. Later in the evening, AlixPartners’ Ted Bililies, advisor to the 2024 selection committee, co-moderated an engaging discussion with Chief Executive’s Dan Bigman, talking with 2023 CEO of the Year, Ed Bastian, and Lisa Su about their perspectives on leadership and the role of CEO. At AlixPartners, we believe in recognizing the power of great leadership to inspire, create impact, and drive meaningful change—and we are proud to sponsor this event. Her career shows that you never completely leave a firm you love. Michela D'Isita’s six-year journey at AlixPartners as People Business Partner and Resource Manager for EMEA was marked by significant contributions, including adapting to major organizational changes and kick-starting the AlixAlumni program. Her dedication and expertise were invaluable to colleagues seeking career advice, and she found a key mentor in Partner & Managing Director Paolo Rinaldini. When the opportunity arose to become Head of Human Resources at Ambienta, a sustainability-focused European asset manager, Michela carried forward the core values of AlixPartners. She remains a passionate advocate for the alumni program, which continues to connect and support former colleagues. AlixPartners was proud to be among those in attendance at this year's Reaching Out MBA (ROMBA) conference in LA. AlixPartners Director Victor Chen, who spoke at the conference, shares the impact that ROMBA has had on his career: “I began attending ROMBA as a student at Kellogg. What brings me back are the authentic relationships I have built over the years. Many of the people I have met at ROMBA have become mentors, clients, and colleagues, offering invaluable support and opportunities. I am grateful to be part of a community that invests in each other's successes and to have had the chance to share my insights as a speaker this year."

AlixPartners SVP Michelle M.'s professional journey started early when after starting in a local theater production of “Annie” at age 8, an open casting call led her to another iconic role: the American Girl Doll Samantha in American Girl’s musical theater. While she ultimately pursued a career in finance and restructuring, music has remained a major part of her life. Last week, she performed with the Debtbeats, a rock-and-roll band made up entirely of restructuring pros, at the Turnaround Management Association’s annual conference in Philadelphia—just the most recent example of how music has helped her find community at AlixPartners and the wider restructuring industry. “It's cool that it'll come up and I'll say, ‘Oh, you sing? I sing too! Music is a defining common experience,” she explains. Read Michelle’s story on how being on stage has helped her be comfortable with uncertainty, how she juggles her passion for music and her consulting career, and the overwhelming support she receives from her colleagues: https://lnkd.in/eUAG6reE #lifeatalixpartners

Last week marked our 15th annual AlixPartners Chili Challenge, one of our most eagerly awaited gatherings each year. 33 cooking teams sizzled and spiced up the competition, with participants from law firms, investment banks, and corporate entities, all vying for titles like the Best Texas Traditional Chili and the Best Team Spirit. We had the privilege of welcoming two distinguished judges: Brian Reinhart, dining critic at D Magazine, and Honorable Chief Judge Stacey Jernigan of the US Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Texas. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the camaraderie. We look forward to seeing you again next year! Until then, learn more about our AlixPartners culture, community, and commitments: https://lnkd.in/ebxUGcqV

#GlobalDignityDay serves as a powerful reminder of our shared humanity and the importance of mutual respect. For Tunde Gbajumo, Senior Vice President in AlixPartners’ IT Department, it represents a commitment to embodying the values of dignity and empathy in every interaction, whether personal or professional. “We all have a place in the human family. This ethos is not just a tool for personal growth, but a way to strengthen teams and communities.” For Karina Borglum, Senior Vice President within the firm’s Risk Advisory practice, dignity leads to a sense of belonging across diverse work environments. “We can learn to respect and value each other not in spite of our differences, but because of them. When employers and leaders embrace these principles, it allows for inclusive work environments to thrive.” Both Karina and Tunde are trained Global Dignity Ambassadors, a result of the firm’s longtime partnership with Global Dignity, an organization founded at the World Economic Forum in 2005. AlixPartners has been closely involved in the development of the Global Dignity Ambassadors Program which equips individuals with the necessary tools to embed dignity and empathy into their workplaces and the communities beyond. Already, 10% of the firm’s employees have been trained and in turn applied their skills to host workshops for local youth centers, scout groups, charity partners, and schools. “Embracing dignity allows team members to feel empowered and valued. This builds team cohesion, and cohesive teams work better together and are more innovative and productive,” adds Tunde. #DignityintheWorkplace #GlobalDignity
