It's hard to believe that we've only been back to school for two weeks! It's been busy, between making sure our students are all settled into their new classrooms and running back to school meetings, with a cocktail party, a field trip and an overnight trip to boot.

Our 60 Troisième students were recently honored at a Middle School graduation ceremony. They have worked hard, put in the extra hours, and have managed to win our hearts as well! We couldn’t be prouder of their many accomplishments and we are grateful for the memories we were able to make with them.

Last week the Quatrième students attended the Saint Germain Livrodrome. Marketed as a "parc d'attractions littéraires" the Livrodrome consisted of stands introducing students to literature, publishing, and every aspect related to books (audiobooks, film adaptations, podcasts . . .). Our students were able to explore by themselves and then had a workshop with a bilingual poet and translator, who led the students in their own bilingual poetic exploration.

The American Section recently led a Fresque du Climat for all Troisièmes at Collège Marcel Roby, where students reflected on the major climate issues facing our world. In small groups led by an adult volunteer, they were asked to think about the causes and effects of human activity on the planet. Once the learning piece was completed, it was time to think about solutions, and our young people came up with great ideas to help reverse some of the effects of greenhouse gases on the climate.

Every year our entire Lower School puts aside routines and spends a week exploring a topic in depth. This year the theme of Project Week was careers, and it a was a huge success. Many thanks to the parents and outside speakers who took time out of their busy schedules to share their interesting careers with our students. Students visited the Mairie de St. Germain, the Lycée Agricole, and the police station, and met with shephards, artists, engineers, dog trainers, and more!
