🗓️ [#Event] | Amundi participated in the OECD - OCDE CoP-PF4SD on Mobilising Private Finance Towards 2030 and Beyond, bringing together stakeholders from the public and private sectors across the international development ecosystem. Adnane LEKHEL, CFA, CIFE, Senior Portfolio Manager at Amundi, shared his insights on the 'What lessons can be learnt from the GSSS bond market?' panel. He contributed to the discussion on Green, Social, #Sustainability and Sustainability-linked bonds (GSSS) - a growing segment that involves both public and private sector. These bonds allow investors to support positive environmental and social impacts while earning returns. Key takeaways from the discussion: 🔑 GSSS bonds hold immense potential for mobilising private finance towards sustainable development yet they are lagging behind in reaching countries that need them most. 🔑 Better data, smarter risk frameworks, and stronger partnerships between the private and public sectors will continue to play a crucial role in unlocking the full potential of GSSS bonds. As a responsible investor, Amundi is committed to mobilising private capital for sustainability.

💡 [#Convictions] | 2025 could be a promising year for European Small and Midcaps (SMIDs), thanks to a favourable market environment. Historical trends show that investing in SMIDs at an economic inflection point – when the economy shifts from contraction to expansion – has typically been a successful strategy. SMIDs tend to benefit exponentially from a reduction in interest rates, and they also represent a valuable tool for enhancing portfolio diversification as they often behave differently from large-cap stocks throughout economic cycles. Nevertheless, a rising tide may not lift all boats, and hence, independent of the macro situation, we believe that a strong focus on stock selection within portfolios will be key.

🌐 [#Alternatives] | As we move into the first half of 2025, how will hedge funds navigate the evolving macro-economic landscape? Macro-economic indicators suggest that we are in transition to a shallow but unsettled early-cycle, with potential inflexions and shocks fueled by trade wars, policy uncertainty and geopolitics. Hedge funds posted robust return on the back of strong alpha generation in 2024. Growing economic dispersion, a return to more average volatility and greater focus on securities' fundamentals are positive for hedge funds, potentially leading to attractive opportunities for H1 2025. 🌱 [#ResponsibleInvesting] | Why are Scope 3 emissions important, and what challenges do they present for investors? Scope 3 emissions often represent the bulk of a company’s total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and are thus essential for understanding a company’s full climate impact and potential opportunities associated with an investment.   While measuring and reporting Scope 3 emissions is a challenging task, investors should gradually consider and incorporate this reporting in their investment decisions.    Additionally, certain jurisdictions are already including the reporting of Scope 3 emissions in their regulatory requirements. For example, the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requires listed companies to report material and significant Scope 3 emissions from 2025 onwards.   Read the paper to discover why measuring scope 3 emissions is a challenging task and the implications of their integration for investors ⤵︎ https://lnkd.in/eUDSpKaG
