Congratulations Chedid SAADE on this prize, which highlights some of the very good quality work you produced during your PhD
I am pleased to announce my participation in the 42nd #RUGC 2024, where I had the opportunity to present my project on "The Effect of Non-Plastic Fines on the Behavior of an Embankment Constructed on Liquefiable Soil During Earthquake." 🏆It is an honor for me to be awarded the Public Works Research Award (Prix de la recherche pour les Travaux Publiques) by Fédération Nationale des Travaux Publics during this conference.🏆 This research was conducted at the Geotechnical Centrifuge Laboratory ( GERS - Gustave Eiffel University) under the supervision of Luc Thorel, Sandra Escoffier, and Zheng Li. I want to thank the #RUGC2024 organizers, the AUGC - Association Universitaire du Génie Civil , Fédération Nationale des Travaux Publics for this distinction. A special thanks to my supervisors, my research laboratory ( CG lab - Gustave Eiffel University ), and the financial support of the Université Gustave Eiffel and Région Pays de la Loire during PhD.

#Mouvementsdusol #Surveillance #Détectionparfibreoptique #Imageriesatellite #Géorisques #Fontis Reflecting on an insightful and engaging seminar we had the privilege to host recently. Last week, the RRO laboratory hosted a seminar by Christelle Abadie entitled as “Monitoring of sinkholes using combined fiber optic sensing and satellite imaging”. Dr. Christelle Abadie has shed light on a recently developed monitoring system, serving as an early warning for sinkholes detection, as part of the SINEW project (Sinkhole early Warning). The system combines both using of distributed fibre optic sensing (DFOS) as well as satellite imaging to predict the possible locations at which sink holes can form, serving as an alert to prevent the occurrence of damage. The presentation tackled the encountered challenges, providing valuable perspectives on how to navigate them. Special thanks for Dr. Abadie for her enriching and inspiring presentation. Looking forward to more exchanges and further engaging future discussions. #Groundmovements #Monitoring #FiberopticSensing #SatelliteImaging #Geohazards #Sinkhole

💡 [#RESEARCH] On 15 March, the partners of #MUTANC research project met to review the progress of their work to study the potential of mutualised anchor to reduce the cost of floating offshore wind farms. Discussions focused mainly on: ▶ Numerical simulations to characterise the behaviour of a pile anchor in sand, under cyclic and multidirectional loading for various configurations. ▶ Centrifuge tests, which began in February, to reproduce, on a reduced scale, cyclic and multidirectional loads applied to a pile anchor to assess the stresses applied to it. ▶ The framework of a technical and economic analysis of mutualised anchors, which is currently underway. This face-to-face meeting was also an opportunity to visit the unique facilities of the Université Gustave Eiffel near Nantes. Many thanks to the team for organising this event! 👉 Learn more about #MUTANC: https://lnkd.in/eMprQt6n The project is led by our Institute, Technip Energies and Saipem, and it brings together EDF, INNOSEA, Skyborn Renewables, TotalEnergies, Université Grenoble Alpes, Université Gustave Eiffel, and Nantes Université. It receives funding from WEAMEC, WEst Atlantic Marine Energy Community, Région Pays de la Loire, and Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique. #offshore #wind #mutualised #anchor #cyclic #multidirectional #loads
