    💡Did you know that 30-40% of processed food is lost before it hits the market?! This alarming statistic contributes to the agricultural industry being responsible for nearly 25% of global C02 emissions. Luckily, HUBCYCLE, a French start-up based in Avignon, has found a way to take this type of food waste and turn it into ingredients used in everyday cooking! 🥘 ♻️Founded by Julien Lesage in 2016, Hubcycle has not only decreased food waste through their molecular-based technology, but has simultaneously saved thousands of C02 emissions through this cutting-edge process. They are also one of the first companies in their field to operate with a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification. From vanilla extract to spices, refined sunflower oil and more, Hubcycle offers over 100 ingredients. These products are sold for 30% less than standard ingredient prices, providing consumers a mindful way to reduce their carbon footprint and to increase personal savings. ➡️What’s next for the start-up? They are looking to expand their team to 100 employees, as they begin new partnerships beyond Europe. They are also focused to continue increasing their saved C02 emissions, projecting to avoid about 8,000 tonnes by the end of this year.     Throughout this month, daphni honors Octobre Rose (Pink October). This annual month-long campaign spreads awareness about breast cancer, as we remember those who have lost their lives to this disease, in addition to informing women about the resources available for detection. In France, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, with 61,214 new cases in the mainland country last year, according to the French Institut National du Cancer (The National Institute of Cancer). As stated by the Institut National du Cancer, women in France between the ages of 50-74 years old are recommended to schedule a mammogram every two years. Women from ages 25-49 are encouraged to receive a clinical examination once a year from a general practitioner, gynecologist or midwife, regardless of risk level. Each of us at team daphni extend our solidarity to those battling this disease, and we encourage all women to set up a screening in relation to your age and as recommended by your physician.     ⭐ Big news! Voltfang raises 8M € upon completing their Series A financing round. ⭐ Voltfang is leading the way in green battery storage systems. 🔋 The German start-up repurposes EV batteries after their initial use, then transforms them into storage systems that sustainably store renewable energy. ♻️ With products that can be used for industrial and commercial purposes, their systems improve environmental footprints and substantially reduce C02 emissions. This new funding will allow for Voltfang to develop more offerings, grow its team and strengthen its market positioning, furthering its mission to provide environmentally-minded solutions in storage for Europe. Acquiring Bimpli just 18 months ago and growing by 25% over the last year, Swile achieved a net income of 8M € during the first half of 2024. Currently managing the employee benefits of 5,5 million users (now including the SNCF), Swile is looking to develop its products and offerings.
