🌍 Climate: Will the transition happen? This was the central question at the Université de la Terre last Friday, where Thomas Jung, EVP Operational Excellence, Innovation & Procurement at Equans, joined experts from WWF, Kering, CNRS, and Bain & Company for an insightful discussion. Launched in 2005 under the auspices of UNESCO, the Université de la terre is a major European event that brings together experts and citizens for two days of dialogue on climate, biodiversity, and social cohesion. 🚨 A concerning reality: In 2024, global greenhouse gas emissions rose by 1.3%, even though we need to reduce them by 7% per year until 2030 to meet climate targets. ✅ At Equans, we refuse to stand by. Our mission is clear: helping our clients accelerate their decarbonization journey by deploying proven solutions such as geothermal energy, heat pumps, and low-carbon heating & cooling networks. [Financial Results] 🚀 Groupe Bouygues Full-Year 2024 Results – Equans Outlook   Equans continues to deliver on its strategic roadmap, with solid financial performance in 2024. 📈 Sales reached €19.2 billion, up 2% year-on-year despite strategic divestments and the gradual exit from the UK new-build business. 💰 Margin from activities improved to 3.5% (+0.6 pts vs. 2023), reflecting the rigorous execution of the Perform plan. Net cash surplus also increased sharply by more than €500 million to €1.52 billion. 🔍 With an order backlog of €25.4 billion (+3% vs. end-2023) and an order intake of €18.4 billion, Equans continues to drive growth in key sectors such as solar farms, data centers, and high-tech infrastructure. 🌍 2025 Outlook: Equans will stay on course with its strategic plan, targeting a margin close to 4% and a cash conversion rate (COPA-to-cash) of 80%-100%. 🍺 A nice cold beer... and more sustainable! In Bruges, the De Halve Maan brewery relies on innovation to cool its beers.  For its bottling plant, our Belgian teams designed and installed a 300 kW ammonia-based glycol cooling system that can easily be expanded to 600 kW. This system serves different circuits and guarantees precise temperatures at each stage of production. The result is a more sustainable, more efficient solution: ✅ An installation that complies with F-Gas regulations thanks to ammonia, a natural fluid. ✅ An indirect glycol cooling circuit for maximum safety. ✅ Energy optimisation with heat recovery used to heat the refermentation chamber and the building. ✅ Advanced monitoring and maintenance by Equans. {HVAC} F-Gas regulations are reshaping the industry - are you up to date? 💨 The European F-Gas Regulation aims to reduce the climate impact of refrigerants, preventing the equivalent of 176 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year. This is because, Fluorinated gases contribute to global warming and also affect the ozone layer. 🌱 🏭 The food industry, logistics and retail are among the largest users of refrigerants, covering the entire cold chain and air conditioning systems. From 2024, the availability of refrigerants has declined due to quotas, and in 2025 further reductions will drive up costs and create potential shortages. What are the F-Gas compliant alternatives?
