Today we mark the International day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The European Union, and the Council of Europe continue to join forces to combat racism in Europe and beyond. On 13 and 14 of March, Special Representatives, Envoys, and Ambassadors met in Brussels for a second coordination meeting on combating Anti-Muslim hatred and racism hosted by the European Commission and co-organised with the Council of Europe. Participants committed to ongoing collaboration, exchanging insights, and coordinating national efforts to counteract rising anti-Muslim narratives, hate crimes, and discrimination. The EU Delegation in Strasbourg is part of an extended network of more than 140 EU Delegations and Offices operating around the world. Inaugurated in January 2011, the Delegation has since served as the permanent diplomatic representation of the European Union to the Council of Europe. Our mission is to advance the interests of the Union and its 27 Member States within the Council of Europe while joining forces with Council of Europe bodies and institutions to promote human rights, the rule of law and democracy on the European continent. Our actions and initiatives on the ground always aim to provide concrete benefits to our citizens, in line with our core values and principles.

Today, Ambassador Vesna Kos opened the Youth Partnership’s seminar on youth mental health and well-being, alongside Mr Tobias Flessenkemper (Head of the Council of Europe Youth Department) and Ms Sina Riz à Porta (Board member of the European Youth Forum). In her remarks, Ambassador Kos emphasised that the European Union and the Council of Europe are fully committed to addressing mental health and well-being in young people and underlined the importance tackling youth mental health challenges through research, policy, and cross-sectoral initiatives aimed at supporting young people’s well-being. Together, we can ensure that youth mental health is a priority across Europe, leaving no young person behind. #OneEurope

You can visit it for free at Le Lieu d'Europe (8 Rue Boecklin, Strasbourg) from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 12pm and 2pm-4pm. The exhibition was created by the EU Delegation to the Council of Europe, the Council of Europe, the Permanent Representation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Council of Europe and the UK Delegation to the Council of Europe. #Coe75women
