It was an ideal opportunity to celebrate our 2024 class in an idyllic setting. We would also like to thank everyone who attended, the Mayor Jérôme Viaud, Cécile Mul, Marc Philippe, Patrice Blaizot, Xavier Blaizot, Jean Mus, Alain Garossi, Vanessa BROUSSE DESPREZ, Marianne Nawrocki Sabatier, Anne Cécile Douvegheant, Patrick Bodifee, Joelle Lerioux Patris, Veronique Wittling and to all the other people who made the evening so special. For me, taking the time to be a student is like sitting on the FRONT BENCH of a ... Fragrance ‘House’. Summer Curriculum are perfecting the teaching of the art of smelling and making fragrances. Summer seems to be a splendid season for a fragrance indulgence; a special treat for the senses, a peaceful instant to relax, an intense moment to smell in the fresh shadow of the scorching sun.   It feels like a privilege to be a student learning under the supervision of talented perfumers. ‘The school is determined to place the human experience at the heart of the education’ says Alain FERRO, Headmaster of GIP.   ‘I am driven by a high ambition for perfume creation to be right; a precise composition made of coherence, high-quality and beauty’ explains Isabelle Ferrand, Founder of Cinquième Sens. A perfumer is always smelling, testing, learning, perfecting. His passion is made of endurance and his performance brings together 1’000 notes in unison. 🌟 La Naissance d'une #Passion : Ma plus belle histoire d’Amour 🌟 « Du plus loin que me revienne, l’ombre de mes amours anciennes, du plus loin du premier rendez-vous… » comme le chantait Barbara. Ma première histoire d’Amour pour moi fût le parfum. Plus qu’une simple fragrance, c’était mon confident, mon compagnon invisible, une présence fidèle qui m’a suivi à travers les hauts et les bas de la vie. Parfois capricieux, parfois séducteur, mais toujours fidèle, le parfum est devenu ma plus belle histoire d'amour. Dès mon enfance, j’ai été envoûté par cette magie olfactive. Percer le mystère de chaque fragrance était comme partir à la recherche de ma légende personnelle. Chaque senteur évoquait une émotion, un souvenir, un rêve. C’est cette fascination qui m’a guidé, tel un phare dans la nuit, vers ma véritable vocation. Mais pour atteindre ce rêve, il m’aura fallu emprunter des chemins de traverse et faire preuve de courage, de résilience et de foi. Après avoir obtenu mon doctorat en chimie, j’ai parcouru le monde dans le domaine des cosmétiques, avec le parfum toujours comme élément central de mes créations. Pourtant, je ressentais un vide, une aspiration inassouvie. En 2019, j’ai pris la décision audacieuse de tout changer. J’ai rejoint le Grasse Institute of Perfumery (GIP), une étape qui a bouleversé ma vie. Pendant un an, j’ai vécu une aventure sensorielle et humaine intense, chaque journée renforçant mon désir de devenir parfumeur. C’était mon destin ! Aujourd'hui, à 47 ans, je suis fier de dire que j'ai réalisé mon rêve d'enfant. Parfumeur et enseignant, je vis ma passion chaque jour. Mon histoire est une preuve vivante que, peu importe l'âge, il n'est jamais trop tard pour poursuivre ses rêves. Il suffit d'oser, de croire en soi et de suivre son cœur. Si vous avez une passion, un rêve qui brûle en vous, ne l’ignorez pas. Suivez-le ! Car la plus belle des histoires d'amour est celle que l'on écrit soi-même. 🌟 The Birth of a #Passion: My Greatest Love Story 🌟 For me, perfume was my first love story. It has always been more than a fragrance to me—it was my invisible companion, loyal through life’s highs and lows. It captivated me from childhood, weaving magic with every scent. My dream of becoming a perfumer led me on an unconventional path, filled with courage and resilience. After earning my PhD and traveling the world, I embraced my true calling in 2019, joining the Grasse Institute of Perfumery. At the age of 47, I’ve fulfilled my dream as a perfumer and a teacher, living my passion daily.
