🌟 Exciting neuroscience imaging captured on video! Watch this incredible data on the oscillatory activity of LUHMES dopaminergic neurons, beautifully produced by NMI Natural and Medical Sciences Institute with the help of our FDSS® kinetic plate imager. 👇 🔗Explore the potential of our FDSS products for neurotoxicology and disease research! 🌐🔍 https://lnkd.in/dktXAd5a #Neuroscience #Research #3Dimaging #NMI
🔬✨ The Beauty of Oscillatory Activity in LUHMES Dopaminergic Neurons ✨🔬 In neuroscience, few things are as mesmerizing as the rhythmic oscillations of neuronal networks. In this video, you can see a LUHMES spheroid recorded via Ca²⁺ imaging, revealing its intrinsic oscillatory activity—reflected in periodic brightness changes. The beautiful piece of data was produced by my student Jasmin Schäfer in our Electrophysiology lab at NMI Natural and Medical Sciences Institute, who has worked with these cells for several years now. LUHMES cells are a human dopaminergic neuron model, originally developed by our long-time collaborator Marcel Leist, that we can differentiate rapidly and cost-effectively in both 2D and 3D. We harness this system to develop functional neurotoxicity assays and disease models for high-throughput screening, e.g., using the Hamamatsu Photonics Europe µCell platform. A huge thank you to the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung for their generous support, which enables us to push these developments forward via funding of the following actual projects: 🧠 NeuroTool (in collaboration with University of Konstanz) 🧠 PRADA (in collaboration with Priavoid GmbH, trenzyme GmbH, and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München Klinikum) Excited to explore the full potential of these models for neurotoxicology and disease research! 🚀 #Neuroscience #LUHMES #Oscillations #CalciumImaging #Neurotoxicity #BMBF #NeuroTool #PRADA #DopaminergicNeurons #NMI
