Our team devotes its activities towards the development of a more sustainable chemistry, by using modern synthesis technologies, such as mechanochemistry, continuous flow and microwaves. These approaches enable the efficient and eco-responsible preparation of organic molecules, organometallics and materials, by using solvent-free synthesis, alternative solvents and catalysis. The molecules, synthesized in an innovative way, find applications in medicinal chemistry, catalysis and depollution. Peptides, nucleosides, organometallics, polymers, heterocycles... You name it, we make it in a sustainable way !

📣 Final version of our publication on sydnone imines synthesized by ball-milling Now published OA 🆓 in the 🇪🇺 European Journal of Organic Chemistry Chemistry Europe 📣 https://lnkd.in/dXhh9y2F Highlight in @Chemistry Views: https://lnkd.in/dkrTH6N5 Iminosydnones are mesoionic heteroaromatic compounds, found in several drugs such as the vasodilators molsidomine and linsidomine, the stimulant and Parkinson’s drug candidate mesocarb, or the stimulant feprosidnine. The high reactivity of these APIs can make their synthesis and isolation of iminosydnones challenging. Here comes mechanochemistry to the rescue ! By using mechanical forces to promote chemical reactions, it enables transformations in essentially solvent-free conditions. Reactions are often faster and more efficient than in solution, and they can provide a cleaner crude mixture, which facilitates purification. These results pave the way to the synthesis of molecular probes for chemical biology based on the sydnone imine framework. Various peptides were synthesized by this flow mechanochemistry method. The artwork was designed by Marcelin Lamaty.
