📢 IFNEC at WiN Global Annual Conference 2024 in Mexico 🇲🇽 This week International Framework for Nuclear Energy Cooperation (IFNEC) Chair, Aleshia Duncan, joined the 31st Woman in Nuclear (WiN) Global Annual Conference in Mexico, alongside global energy experts and advocates. 🤝Aleshia and WiN Global’s Melina Belinco presented their joint initiatives to the WiN Global Executive and Board. 🌍 In a keynote plenary session titled "Leaving No One Behind," Aleshia joined a panel of experts to discuss how inclusivity and equitable access to clean energy are essential to the success of global energy transitions. Moderated by Angela Abadia Zapata, Ministry of Mines and Energy Colombia, the session emphasised the importance of integrating underrepresented voices and ensuring that no communities are excluded from the benefits of #CleanEnergy development.

Last week, the International Framework for Nuclear Energy Cooperation (IFNEC) Chair, Aleshia Duncan, joined members of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency's High-Level Group on Improving the Gender Balance in the Nuclear Sector (HLG-GB) in Paris, France, to discuss the group’s latest activities focused on attracting and advancing women in the #nuclear sector. 👩🔬👩🎓 Gender balance has considerable implications for the future of nuclear energy, which needs a robust and diverse workforce to drive performance and innovation. The HLG-GB serves as a forum for discussion and sharing information as well as an action-oriented vehicle for collecting data, analysis, and elaborating policy and guidance for tracking and increasing the contributions of diverse women to the sector to achieve gender balance.

🌍 USANES 2024 brought together 600+ participants 🌍 Another successful edition of the US-AFRICA Nuclear Energy Summit (USANES) 2024, held from 27-30 August in Nairobi, Kenya. Organized by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in partnership with the Kenyan Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA) and the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum of Kenya (MoEP) and supported by the regional Clean Energy Training Center (CETC), this Summit has made significant progress in promoting the development and adoption of nuclear energy in the region.
