(Victor Hugo in -Postscriptum of my life-) 🇫🇷 During our first decade at Jolt Capital, we have built up a method, assembled an A-team, proved an investment thesis, and opened a few offices right here in Europe (starting with Lausanne & Copenhagen). 🇩🇰 🇨🇭 A couple of years ago, it would have been tempting to platformize upstream (VC) and downstream (crossover), staying on the same geographical playground, but we've decided (for now) to expand the other way around: sticking to our playbook (deeptech B2B scaleups) and deploying it internationally. Of course, internationalism has run in our veins since day 1 (non-European LPs, broad dealflow from #JoltNinja, international exits, many nationalities in our team, etc), but establishing an actual presence on the ground is something we are scaling now. 🇨🇦 In the June issue of Private Equity Magazine dedicated to the internationalization of PE ("French GPs are looking for the right blend"), Jean Schmitt says: "When we set up a new office somewhere, like we just did in Montreal, we make sure that the land is rich both in terms of potential LPs AND eligible deal flow." 📢 Pleased to announce that we have signed a definitive agreement to sell our stakes in UnitySC, a company in Jolt Capital IV portfolio.   The advanced metrology and inspection instrumentation equipment provider for the semiconductor industry will be acquired by Merck Group, a leading science and technology company operating across life science, healthcare and electronics.   The transaction is still subject to regulatory clearance and other customary closing conditions and is expected to be closed until year end. Combined with Merck’s extensive optoelectronics and semiconductor expertise, UnitySC will extend the ecosystem relevance of Merck's Electronics business.   Says Pierre Garnier, Managing Partner at Jolt Capital: “We’ve been following UnitySC since its creation, and we also played a direct role in the consolidating acquisitions made in 2016 and 2018.
