MANE participated in the Society of Flavor Chemists (SFC) 2024 Symposium, a prestigious multi-day event dedicated to the art and science of flavour creation and related topics. Hosted by the SFC every five years, this symposium is a significant event in our industry, bringing together flavour experts. Three of our experts joined the event and presented conferences: - Chris Tucker, Director of Snack Application & Seasoning Development at MANE, partnered on an insightful presentation discussing the basics of seasoning creation & application. His expertise highlighted the foundational techniques essential for seasoning flavour development and applications. - Kevin Heitfeld, PhD, Director of Innovation & Applied Sciences at MANE, captivated the audience with his discussion on innovation in flavour encapsulation. His talk shed light on cutting-edge methods that are transforming how flavours area preserved and delivered. - Amy McDonald, President of the North American Flavour Division at MANE, was the keynote speaker who concluded the symposium with her inspiring presentation untitled: Beyond the taste buds: how to embrace a growth mindset in flavour development. Her words left a lasting impression, encouraging us to think beyond traditional boundaries. We would like to thank our speakers and SFC for this event! Corsican citron is a citrus fruit that celebrates imperfection. The French name, cédrat, is derived from the citrusy cedar-like aroma emanating from its peel. Despite its rugged exterior, the Corsican citron is revered for its remarkably delicate flavour. In our quest to enrich our palette of offerings with exclusive extracts, we sustainably source this precious citrus fruit from Corsica. Today, MANE is the only fragrance house to use the Corsican variety, whose citrus profile features an exquisite subtle sweetness. The citrons are hand-harvested in early autumn and then shipped to the South of France. There, they are prepared in a special centre, where people with disabilities can work in a specific environment that caters to their social and medical needs. Finally, the citrons’ essence is extracted in our workshops. Due to the citron’s thick skin, extracting the essence is no easy task. MANE employs a special extraction technique to faithfully capture the fruit’s authentic aroma, resulting in a premium essential oil with a refreshing crisp scent. #MANEingredients #MANEexpertise #MANEsourcing

We are proud to announce that Floribis has received a substantial grant from the Indian Ocean Business Biodiversity Fund. The Indian Ocean Business Biodiversity Fund supports initiatives that place biodiversity at the core of their strategy. Floribis, who has been MANE’s partner and supplier of vanilla for more than 20 years, has secured over €420,000 in funding for a joint project with local firms aimed at preserving the Analalava forest. The long-standing partnership between MANE and Floribis has focused on the cultivation and development of sustainable vanilla. This grant highlights our two companies’ commitment to the preservation of biodiversity in Madagascar through responsible vanilla production and sustainability initiatives. Sustainability Month: empowering climate action at MANE! For MANE Sustainability Month, we are raising awareness about climate change among our employees across the globe. One of our key initiatives is the Climate Fresk workshop, an interactive session that highlights the impact of human activities on our planet. Using scientific data, these workshops grasp the complex, systemic nature of climate change in a fun and collaborative way. A total of 800 Group employees have received training so far! This month alone, 100 employees at our US and France sites participated. Every workshop deepens our understanding of the role each of us plays in tackling climate issues. Volunteers at MANE USA in Ohio rolled up their sleeves for an urban reforestation project in partnership with the City of Cincinnati, contributing to local ecosystem restoration and strengthening ties with the community. Employees at MANE Mexico organised an environmental day focused on reforesting their industrial park and composting. They planted 20 new trees nourished with compost made on site and cleaned up a 6,000 m² area. They also distributed 300 compost kits to employees to encourage them to join this eco-friendly initiative. At MANE, we believe that raising awareness is a critical step in the fight against climate change. We are committed to long-term action and empowering our teams to be part of the solution. Let’s celebrate United Nations Day! MANE is proud to reaffirm its 21-year commitment to the United Nations Global Compact. Since joining the initiative in 2003, MANE has pioneered sustainability and ethics in the flavour and fragrance industry by supporting the 10 universal principles of human rights, promoting decent work for all, protecting the environment, and fighting corruption. Our whole CSR policy has been designed to make a meaningful and long-lasting contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. As part of MANE Sustainability Month, employees at MANE USA are engaging in events in New York, New Jersey, and Ohio to address the urgent need for social and environmental justice in partnership with not-for-profit organisations and institutions. On 17 October, we attended an event organised by our partner, ATD Fourth World, commemorating the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty at the United Nations Headquarters. We felt proud to be a part of this global movement uplifting the voices of people struggling with poverty. A week later, we hosted a panel during the Youth Inclusion International Forum, where businesses, NGOs, youth, and institutions advocate for solutions to end poverty through collaborative action. Roxane Durand, ESG Project Director at MANE USA, shared inspiring initiatives for the inclusion of youth facing exclusion and poverty. Through partnerships with local associations, we advance the causes of equity, sustainability, hunger relief, and urban reforestation. In New Jersey, we partnered with America’s Grow a Row for the second time, harvesting sustainably grown vegetables and donating them to people living in food deserts. In Ohio, we planted trees in urban environments to improve air quality, reduce the risk of heat stress and flooding, and create healthier, more liveable communities.
