[EARLY WARNINGS FOR ALL EVENT – MOZAMBIQUE] 🤝 A few months ago, we were very proud to announce that MFI had signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement with 𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗠 (Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia) for the design and implementation of a joint global integrated Early Warning project in Mozambique, based on an innovative Design Build Operate (DBO) business model. 📅 Following on from this agreement, our President Patrick BENICHOU had the honor to be invited to participate to Mozambique 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝗹 (𝗘𝗪𝟰𝗔𝗹𝗹) 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵, taking place in Maputo on Aug.21-22. 🎤 The event was chaired on Day 1 by the President of Mozambique 𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗲 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗡𝘆𝘂𝘀𝗶, and several ministers among which 𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘂𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗮, Minister of Transports and Communications. The workshop on Day 2 gave opportunity to give a presentation of how a "cross-pillar" DBO approach in Mozambique would match the expectations of the entities involved (INAM, INGD, INCM, CVM) and of society. ✉ Just before the event, major UN organizations like World Meteorological Organization and United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) had signed a strong support letter commending the Government of Mozambique "𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘞4𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘯𝘥-𝘵𝘰-𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘢𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯". It also expressed "𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘞4𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤-𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘦-𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 (𝘗𝘗𝘗) 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘥𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 [𝘦𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘔𝘍𝘐], 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 “𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘖𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦” 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩", and their belief "𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴-𝘱𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘗𝘗𝘗 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘢 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘺, 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦, 𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘜𝘕 𝘌𝘞4𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘰𝘻𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦". 💪 This support letter appears like a validation of the approach MFI has been promoting these past 2 years through its 𝗪𝟰𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁. We are therefore more motivated than ever to move from theory to practice and achieve the first PPP EW4All-compliant project in collaboration with Mozambican authorities. The project now deserves a DBO-compliant financing solution matching the expectations of the Government and of the society… a final but crucial step to move forward. #EW4All #EarlyWarningsForAll #ClimateAction

[COLLABORATION - Cambodia] ✈ Last week, we had the opportunity to travel to Cambodia to meet up with 𝗛.𝗘. 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗮 and 𝗛.𝗘. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗵, respectively Minister and Secretary of State of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MoWRaM).   📅 On June 26, Robert BOUSQUET, President of Sterela, and Patrick BENICHOU, President of Meteo France International (MFI), led a French delegation (Astrid Cousteau, Christophe Marquet, Jean-Sebastien Cases) to discuss crucial advancements in water resources management and meteorology.   🎯 𝗛.𝗘 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗮 emphasized the crucial role of his ministry in promoting information management and protecting agricultural activities, rural infrastructures, people and properties from natural disasters. He also underlined what a partnership with MFI and Sterela might bring to meet the strategic goals of the Ministry.   🌧 He detailed the ambitious construction project of the National Water Resources Data Management Centre (NWRDMC), supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the European Investment Bank (EIB). This center aims to revolutionize Cambodia’s ability to collect, store, analyze, and disseminate vital meteorological and hydrological data. The NWRDMC will empower Cambodia with greater autonomy in managing water-related data and producing high-quality forecasting. It is expected to be the cornerstone of MoWRaM's modernization strategy concerning its water infrastructure.   💡 MFI and Sterela also co-animated a participative workshop gathering local experts and regional stakeholders. The objective was to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration in order to support Cambodia’s efforts in optimizing its water resource management and strengthen its resilience to climate change.   🙏🏻 We are grateful for the warm welcome we have received from our Cambodian hosts. We appreciated the opportunity to share insight about Sterela METEO's advanced hydrometeorological observation solutions, including automatic weather stations and related processing systems. We were also glad to be able to present MFI's global approach for modernizing National Hydromet Services, relying on high-end Data Management systems and a strong end-user orientation aiming at more value creation for general public, weather-sensitive economic sectors and other relevant stakeholders.

[EVENT – ANGOTIC 2024] 💫 𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖, Angola's International Information and Communication Technologies Forum, is a global information and communication technologies event, held and promoted by the Government of Angola, through the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication. It aims to promote debate around new technologies, sharing of knowledge and networking between all stakeholders (government entities, experts, private companies, etc.). 📅 The 4th edition of 𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖 vas held from June 13th till 15th at the Talatona Convention Center, under the motto “𝘿𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙯𝙚, 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙚”. 📢 MFI participated in this event both as sponsor and speaker. Indeed, fabrice claverie, the Project Director in charge of the 60-million-euro modernization project we have carried out for the benefit of INAMET - Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia e Geofísica, intervened during a session dedicated to the impact of emerging technologies on sustainable development. 💬 The opportunity to highlight the obvious socio-economic benefits induced by a project such as the one achieved by MFI, based on high-end technologies for more digitization, more automation… and in the end, more efficiency for the public organization in charge of weather forecast and warning in Angola. When you know that 𝟳𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 “𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿-𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲”, and that 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗨𝗦$ 𝟭 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗨𝗦$ 𝟵 𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀, the relationship between a strong national hydromet service and sustainable development is pretty obvious 😉 !

[💥NEW PROJECT 💥] 𝗞𝘂𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟱𝘁𝗵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 – In the presence of His Highness 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗵 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗠𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗸 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗔𝗹-𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗵, President of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of Kuwait, Her Excellency Claire Le Flécher, the French Ambassador to Kuwait, Mr. Patrick BENICHOU, President of Meteo France International (MFI) signed a 38 M€ contract for the global strengthening of 𝗗𝗚𝗖𝗔's Meteorological Department. This project is part of a larger initiative for the complete modernization of Kuwait City’s international airport complex for which the 𝗗𝗚𝗖𝗔 has enlisted the services of the Dutch engineering company Deerns. 𝗠𝗙𝗜 is locally represented by the company SEEDiS, part of 𝗠𝗔𝗣𝗦𝗖𝗢 - Musaed Abdullah AlSayer & Partners Company, with more than 30 years of experience in the fields of engineering and integration. The project proposed by 𝗠𝗙𝗜 in response to 𝗗𝗚𝗖𝗔’s requirements includes the implementation of 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺, from the collection and management of large volumes of data to the dissemination of warnings and met information to the general public, as well as value-added products for Kuwait’s weather-sensitive economic sectors, including aviation and the oil & gas industry. Special emphasis will be put on the implementation of advanced technological solutions in the areas of 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, particularly sandstorms, a major local problem. Beyond these high-end technical solutions, and true to its global and turnkey approach, 𝗠𝗙𝗜 will also provide an 𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 for 𝗗𝗚𝗖𝗔 teams. More than 130 weeks of training are included in the project to ensure sustainability. With the same concern for durability, the 𝗗𝗚𝗖𝗔 made the smart choice to plan 𝗮 𝟰-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱 at the end of the 2,5 years of completion of the contract. Thanks to this global project, 𝗗𝗚𝗖𝗔 is about to significantly improve its warning and service capacity for 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝘂𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, and 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆'𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. By making this technological leap, 𝗗𝗚𝗖𝗔 is also positioning itself as a leading player on the Middle East meteorological scene, thus strengthening Kuwait's overall influence in the area. This new project reinforces MFI's status as 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀. It confirms the relevance our positioning in a world looking for efficient solutions in a context of global climate change. 🙏 We thank 𝗗𝗚𝗖𝗔 for their trust and we can't wait to embark on this new exciting adventure!

[VIGICLIMM PROJECT - COTE d'IVOIRE] 📅 The global strengthening project, known as 𝗩𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗖𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗠 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, we are currently carrying out for the SODEXAM Côte d'Ivoire is now well engaged in its second year of operation, and moving right along. Last week, executives of SODEXAM and MFI gathered in Abidjan in order to attend the second Steering Committee of the project. The 3-day event had for objective to review the progress of the different components of the project, to plan corrective actions if necessary, and organize activities for the months to come. ✅ 𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, the finalization of almost all civil work for observation sites was underlined as it opens the way to the first installations of a dozen of automatic weather stations on the 27 provided within the project. The choice of the radar solution was also approved: SODEXAM will soon be equipped with a Band-C weather radar based on "solid state" technology provided by Meteopress. It is currently under production process.   🎯 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲? 🏗The choice of the contractor in charge of building the new headquarters of the Ivorian Meteorological Department is high on the list of priorities as the structural work for the 2-storey building are expected to start before the end of the year. Intense activity is also planned on the Information System component of the project, as well as on Training aspects. 👩🏾🎓 Indeed, the global Training Program for VIGICLIMM has been approved and it includes none less than 58 sessions representing over 390 training days! 🤝🏻No risk of getting bored with this ambitious project which continues to unfold in a spirit of collaboration and strong partnership, as emphasized by all attendees of the Steering Committee… 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗶𝘁 𝘂𝗽 😉 !
