Nestlé Waters UK, the Environment Agency, Severn Trent and the Harris & Sheldon Group have come together with Moors for the Future Partnership to fund work on Combs Moss in the moors of the Peak District. 🌱 Innovative restoration work including blocking of erosion gullies and sphagnum moss planting will create conditions aimed to slow the flow of water from the moor, mitigating the risk of flooding in the town of Buxton; while also helping to increase biodiversity. Nestlé Waters UK is supporting the project as part of our efforts to lead the regeneration of local water cycles through nature-based solutions that provide benefits to the watershed and community. Hayley Lloyd House, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability for Nestlé Waters UK said; “Our water regeneration projects go beyond the factory gates to help tackle shared local water challenges. This project is a great example of being a part of a collaborative ecosystem service funding initiative, that will benefit nature alongside local businesses and communities for decades to come, something we have long been working towards for Buxton.” Read the press release ➡️ http://spr.ly/6049R3VcT 📸 Image copyright: Moors for the Future Partnership

𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Water stewardship has always been a guiding principle for Nestlé Waters. Our natural mineral water products are drawn from geological sources that have often been operating for more than a century. Caring for our unique historic sources is essential to protect them for future generations. Whilst we take care to sustainably manage these unique sources, the resilience of wider watersheds is also critical. I’m pleased to share that we are making good progress, in collaboration with many partners, to support our commitment on Water Regeneration. By the end of 2025, local water regeneration projects will be in place supporting wider water cycles at all our sites. As these projects mature to their full potential, the volumes created will help benefit nature and communities for years to come. Tackling shared water challenges cannot be done alone, and we are sharing what we are learning with others. If you would like to learn more, please get in touch with my team. #WaterRegeneration #Sustainability #GenerationRegeneration

Did you know that Nestle has committed to leading the regeneration of local water cycles everywhere our Waters business operates? This pledge goes beyond our own Waters operations and means we work with local communities and partners who share our ambition to protect the health of local watersheds. These projects are enabling local watersheds to capture as much water as we use in our bottling operations. They include reforestation projects that contribute to the avoidance of runoff, wetland restoration and rainwater harvesting which helps to increase recharge, and drip irrigation which helps reduce water withdrawals. There is a great example in Thailand, shown here in this infographic - please take a look to see what our team is doing. Nestlé Waters

Water Regeneration Nestle Waters pledged two years ago to regenerate local water cycles everywhere we bottle water. Since then, collleagues across Europe and worldwide have been working with partners to develop and deliver projects that tackle water challenges. There are many many different ones. One example is in Derbyshire, UK, where we together with partners are repositioning a river for the benefit of nature. A native fish species that has been absent for a century will be able to return with wider benefits for the watershed and local community. #Water Regeneration #Nature #sustainability

As climate change impacts our world this also brings growing water challenges. Working together on solutions is key, which is why Nestlé Waters has pledged to help to conserve water resources, for the benefit of people and nature, everywhere we operate. I invite you to look at this short film, which shows how we and our partners are delivering water regeneration projects in some of the most beautiful watersheds across Europe and the wider world. Handpicked and tailored to specific challenges, an initial 40 bespoke local water regeneration projects are now in place across our locations, with a programme of future projects being established with local partners. As these projects mature to their full potential, the volumes created will help increase the resilience of watersheds for years to come. #WaterRegeneration #Partnership #Sustainability

The climate events across Europe this year have been a stark reminder of the need to protect nature. Two years ago, Nestlé Waters pledged to lead the regeneration of local water cycles 💧 wherever we operate. It's all about capturing as much water locally as is used in our bottling operations. So what does water regeneration mean? It is quite hard to explain on paper, but it's easier when you look at projects in action. I like this example in Poland: the Nestlé Waters team has looked beyond the factory gates and worked with the community on solving a particular local water challenge in the Bystra river. By installing a UV filter near a nearby waste water plant, they have helped to improve local water quality and biodiversity. This is one of our 40 projects so far. More to come! Thanks to all the colleagues making those efforts everyday for our common good! Nestlé Waters #WaterRegeneration #biodiversity

Water Stewardship and Stakeholder Engagement Lead

Water stewardship in action... Great work from our team in Tunuyan, Argentina (where our site is AWS certified, platinum level!). This is part of our pledge to regenerate local water cycles everywhere we operate. More than 40 projects already delivering water benefits, or underway. So that local watersheds retain more water than is used in our bottling operations. The key principle is to address a SHARED water challenge and to tailor the approach to local contexts. Check these infographics. We need to act, but to explain as well, and not only to experts. Here, close to the Argentinian Andes, a better use of water from artesian wells. #nestlewaters #waterregeneration #a4ws #waterstewardship
