We have secured a record number of commitments from water companies to improve the environment. They must take more than 24,000 actions over the next five years as part of the Water Industry National Environment Programme. This is a rolling five-year plan, developed in collaboration with Ofwat, Natural England and water companies. Actions include: 💙 Protecting and enhancing rivers 🌧️ Upgrading storm overflows 🏊 Improving bathing water sites 💧Reducing water abstraction This represents £22bn of investment in England to benefit the water environment and customers.
