As we prepare for #IFEAT this November in Thailand, we are excited to share that it coincides with the #Loy #Krathong festival. During this celebration, locals release decorated Krathongs into rivers. The Krathong, often made of banana leaves and adorned with flowers, candles, and incense, symbolizes the release of negativity and the hope for #new #beginnings. Also, another tradition is to release #Khom #Loi; #lanterns that ascend into the night sky. These are strictly regulated and can only be thrown in certain areas. Alternatively, you can write wishes on them and hang them, so the symbolism is still present. This festival aligns perfectly with the spirit of #IFEAT. Just as Loy Krathong celebrates renewal and new beginnings, IFEAT - The International Federation of Essential Oils and Aroma Trades represents #innovation and #progress. Both share the value of leaving the past behind and embracing new #opportunities. We are excited to celebrate these shared values together and experience the magic of this #tradition. This fragrance, with its fresh blend of citrus, green herbs, warm spices, and a hint of brandy, wasn’t just applied to the skin; it was also meant to be consumed. Our colleague Estel Orrit has just returned from an incredible visit to the #Temple of #Horus in Edfu, #Egypt. One of the most fascinating discoveries she made was the Hall of #Essences, or #Perfume #Laboratory. This ancient space, located next to the Nile Chamber, shows how the Egyptians created incense and essences for their #rituals. These #perfumes, considered sacred, were used to connect with the divine and were associated with the Eye of Horus. Celebrating the International Day of Essential Oils! Today we celebrate the International Day of Essential Oils! Those small bottles filled with big benefits. Did you know that the use of essential oils dates back more than 5,000 years? Ancient civilizations like the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans used these natural extracts for #medicine, #cosmetics, and #religious rituals. An interesting fact is that #lavender #essential #oil was one of the first to be used for therapeutic purposes. French #chemist René-Maurice Gattefossé accidentally discovered its healing properties in 1910 when he burned his hand in his #laboratory and immersed it in lavender oil. He was amazed at how quickly the wound healed! Is there an essential oil that triggers a special memory? #ventosglobal
