💧 Water is a precious resource, but access to it is not always a given. While some regions enjoy a relatively stable water supply, others—like Cyprus—face increased water stress in summer due to rising demand from tourism. Cyprus is an island particularly vulnerable to water shortages. How can we meet agricultural irrigation needs while preserving groundwater? Since March 2022, Saur, in partnership with #Lacovonou, has been operating the Paphos wastewater treatment plant under an eight-year contract. Our goal is clear: to turn treated wastewater into a valuable resource for local agriculture, reducing dependence on groundwater. This sustainable solution provides farmers with a reliable alternative while helping to mitigate the risks of drought. This initiative is part of our broader commitment to responsible water management, working closely with local stakeholders. By multiplying these innovative solutions, we help build a more resilient model—where every drop of water is given the value it deserves. #MissionWater #WaterStress #SustainableManagement

Ensuring reliable access to high-quality drinking water is a key challenge for communities. In response to growing pressure on water resources in Côtes-d’Armor, STEREAU partnered with Saint-Brieuc Armor Agglomération to design and build the Croix-Cholin plant—a sustainable solution to the region’s water challenges. This facility draws water from the Gouët-Saint-Barthélemy dam and produces 1,850 m³ per hour of drinking water, serving 150,000 residents. Innovative features of the plant help conserve 515,000 m³ of water annually—equivalent to 206 Olympic swimming pools—by reducing withdrawals from natural sources. With this modern and sustainable infrastructure, Stereau enhances water efficiency while promoting responsible resource management. This project reaffirms our commitment to supporting communities in developing smart, sustainable water solutions. Every new infrastructure marks a step forward in balancing performance with resource preservation. Together, let’s secure the future of water—starting today. #Missionwater

💡 Citizens imagine the future of water In partnership with Make.org, the Saur group launched a major citizen consultation. This project mobilized more than 16,000 participants, generated 1,600 proposals and collected 300,000 votes to answer a key question: how can we guarantee a sustainable future for water? As part of this initiative, citizens and experts came together to workshop practical solutions to high-priority problems. They focused on making soil more permeable, reusing treated wastewater, and desalinating seawater. Through this process, it became all the more clear that it is crucial for citizens to be actively involved in protecting this vital resource. 🎯 These results help the Saur group improve our current solutions and innovate for the future, addressing stakeholder needs while driving an ambitious water transition. 📹 In the next three episodes, take a dip behind the scenes of this collective mobilization, and see how citizens shape our vision for the future of water. Watch the first video today to learn how citizen consultation influenced the Saur group's global strategy. 📆 Stay tuned, the rest is coming soon! Wattrelos wastewater treatment plant: a model of sustainable innovation for the Métropole Européenne de Lille (MEL) ! The Saur Group is proud to have signed, through its entities Saur France and Stereau, as leader of a consortium, the contract for the construction, operation, and maintenance of a next-generation wastewater treatment plant in Lille. This project is one of the biggest wastewater treatment plant modernization projects in France over the next decade! Every day, we mobilize our global experience to offer water management bespoke solutions to local communities, combining innovation and sustainability. In France, we are modernizing the Wattrelos wastewater treatment plant to enhance the treatment of wastewater and stormwater. The project also incorporates advanced technologies such as methanization and heat recovery. It allows the new station to produce 11 GWh/year of biomethane and 1.4 GWh/year of solar energy, translating our international expertise into concrete local solutions. By promoting local resources while supporting local communities, we are acting for sustainable and environmentally-friendly management that suits the needs of each area. All together, let’s act for the future of water! #MissionWater Estelle GRELIER Hugo Bardi Damien Castelain Photos by Samuel AMEZ
