Starting point is the division of relevant tasks into more central or more decentral responsibility. On that basis three types of organizational models can be considered to drive an AI transformation, depending on the level of maturity and technological expertise of each organization.    Based on our experience from client projects Dr. Bernd Peper is convinced that the ‘Central unit as the nucleus for AI activities’ model is the most efficient for organizations.   DB long distance for example, has made impressive strides in digitalization by clearly defining use cases and taking a product-oriented approach to AI and by creating an AI Competence Center. The Center lead by Axel Schulz was established several years ago as the central hub for AI strategy, standardization, and implementation. Since then, numerous AI products have been developed and brought into daily business.   Solutions like this show how the full potential of AI in the public sector can be realized if the specifics of the organization are fully appreciated. “AI holds incredible potential for both European citizens and decision-makers in European public services.     🚀 How to successfully deploy AI at scale in Organizations ?    The AI revolution is here, and no organization can afford to ignore it. While some companies have managed to integrate AI into their processes and achieve real performance gains, many still face significant challenges and struggle to move beyond the Proof of Concept (POC) stage.     So, where should you begin?     Drawing from our experience and the case of DB Long Distance, we’ve identified the key conditions for a successful AI transformation at scale:     #1. It's not enough to position a CAIO at the C-level. Responsibility must also be present in the operational units.   #2. There are too few AI experts in organizations - a competence center serves as a starting point for initial AI projects.   #3. The integration of AI solutions into the central organization, processes, and IT systems must be consistently thought out from the beginning.   #4.
