🌊 The way of water? 🌊 💧🏭 Hydroelectric power is vital for grid stability and clean energy, especially in developing regions. In 2018, STOA invested in Cameroon’s largest hydroelectric project, the NACHTIGAL HYDRO POWER COMPANY dam. 🔎 #InsideSTOA Le 10 décembre 2024 a eu lieu le Comité de Raison d’Être de STOA qui deux fois par an réunit un panel d’experts aux profils divers. Pour cette occasion, les membres du comité de Raison d’Etre étaient présents : Marie-Laure Mazaud (directrice générale de STOA), Carine de Boissezon (EDF), Waël Rizk (Caisse des Dépôts), Lionel Zinsou (SouthBridge Group), Valerie Quiniou (Skyborn Renewables) ainsi que les membres de l’équipe ESG de STOA (Catherine Edet, Theva Molina et Julie Chevalerias). Ce comité permet à STOA d’effectuer un bilan des derniers mois sur les avancées en matière d’environnement et social dans sa stratégie d’investissement. Pour cela, les membres partagent leurs expertises et retours d’expérience pour garantir que la Raison d’Être de STOA reste pertinente et ambitieuse.   Cette réunion a été l’occasion de : ➡️ Revenir sur l’audit indépendant réalisé en 2024 qui a témoigné de l’atteinte des objectifs de la Raison d’être à l’horizon 2024 (http://bit.ly/3WzmT0w) ➡️ Faire le point sur le monitoring E&S des participations ➡️ Présenter les outils et méthodologie mis en œuvre par STOA pour suivre et appuyer l’adaptation au changement climatique dans ses participations ➡️ Partager sur le succès de l’évènement peer-to-peer ESG qui a été une occasion d’échanges entre experts ➡️ Discuter des cibles de Raison d’Etre à atteindre à l’horizon 2028   STOA remercie à nouveau chaleureusement les membres de son comité de Raison d’Etre pour ces échanges fructueux sur des sujets qui tiennent à cœur à l’équipe ! --- On December 10, 2024, STOA held its Purpose Committee meeting, which convenes twice a year and brings together a panel of experts with diverse backgrounds. In attendance were the members of the Purpose Committee, including @Marie-Laure Mazaud (CEO of STOA), @Carine de Boissezon (EDF), @Wael Rizk (Caisse des Dépôts), @Lionel Zinsou (SouthBridge Group), @Valerie Quiniou (Skyborn Renewables), as well as the members of STOA's ESG team (@Catherine Edet, @Theva Molina, and @Julie Chevalerias). This committee provides STOA with an opportunity to review the progress made over the past months regarding environmental and social advancements within its investment strategy. During the meeting, members shared their expertise and insights to ensure STOA's Purpose remains relevant and ambitious. The meeting included: ➡️ A review of the independent audit conducted in 2024, which confirmed the achievement of Purpose-related objectives set for 2024 (see Verification Statement link). ➡️ An update on the E&S monitoring of STOA’s portfolio. ➡️ A presentation of the tools and methodologies implemented by STOA to monitor and support climate change adaptation within its portfolio. ➡️ A discussion on the success of the ESG peer-to-peer event, which facilitated meaningful exchanges among experts. ➡️ A dialogue on the Purpose targets to be achieved by 2028.
