Today is recognised globally as World Mental Health Day and this year the World Health Organization are highlighting mental health at work and how they are closely linked. At JCM, we recognise that a supportive work environment fosters good mental health and can provide purpose and stability to our employees. We therefore aim to prevent exposure to psychosocial risks within the workplace; protect and promote mental health and wellbeing at work; and support our employees with mental health conditions so that they can actively participate in the workplace. One of our strategies to promote mental health and wellbeing at work is to enable balance. Whilst we all work hard to advance the clean energy age, we also know how to have fun and enjoy life outside of the office with colleagues, family and friends. Pictured here are just a few of our “out of office” activities including our bi-monthly sports events in Karachi, our annual JCM Fun Day in Malawi, and our Africa Corporate Team getaway! #WorldMentalHealthDay #RenewableEnergy #Balance #MentalHealthAtWork

Today our Social Performance team at our Salima Solar PV Project commenced with conducting our annual Livelihood Restoration Plan (LRP) programme monitoring. Leah Msukwa Malonje, Joseph Batizani and Connex Lodzani will spend the next three weeks interviewing our project affected people to measure the impact of JCM’s livelihood restoration efforts and identify areas for improvement. A gender-centered approach forms a key element of the monitoring, and therefore our three Field Officers will also be interviewing a female household member, where the project affected person is a male, to understand the differentiated impacts. We look forward to working with Community Insights Group again this year to analyse and understand the data we collect. #RenewableEnergy #LivelihoodRestoration #SustainableLivelihoodsFramework #Malawi #ProjectAffectedPeople

KE Breaks Records with Lowest Tariff Bid for 220 MW Hybrid Project! K-Electric has set a new benchmark in renewable energy with a record-breaking tariff bid of PKR 8.91 per unit for its 220 MW hybrid project in Dhabeji. This bid is a significant step towards KE's 30% renewable energy target by 2030, reducing costs and dependence on imported fuels. #KerenewableEnergy #HybridEnergy #SustainablePower

It has been a year since the opening of the Jan Muhammad Khaskheli Primary School which provides education to 40 children from the community surrounding our Hawa Wind Power Project. The last year has been transformative for the Hawa community! The appointed teacher, a member of the local community, has been hugely motivated by the opportunity to teach the children of his own village. Through formal employment he is now financially secure and can focus on his own higher education, something that had long been out of reach. His story is one of personal growth alongside his students. For the students, the school has brought about an entirely new way of life. Before the school opened, their days were spent fetching water and tending to livestock, with no chance to learn or build skills for the future. These children, who once only spoke their regional language, Sindhi, now have the basics to read, write, and converse in both Urdu and English. They can perform basic math calculations—skills that were previously unimaginable for them. The parents, too, have witnessed a profound change. Their children now speak confidently in multiple languages and beyond academics, the students have become more aware of hygiene and healthy practices, bringing this knowledge home to their families, which has positively impacted the community. With JCM’s continued support, the school has exciting plans for the next year including the addition of extracurricular activities with neighbouring schools. These initiatives will help the students represent their culture, foster a greater sense of community and continue on the path to a brighter future. This school has not only transformed the lives of the children and their families but also set in motion a wave of progress that will continue to uplift the entire community. We wish to thank our investment partners (HIL, ASMA Capital Partners B.S.C.(c) and DL Energy) for their continued support of our CSR initiatives. #RenewableEnergy #WindPower #Pakistan #Education #CorporateSocialResponsibility

We have just commenced with wet cleaning the solar PV panels at our Salima and Golomoti Solar PV Projects in Malawi! JCM’s cleaning philosophy is heavily dependent on the soiling in the area, and as a way of conserving water, we utilise a combination of dry and wet cleaning to ensure that the Soiling Loss is kept below the required level. Wet cleaning is therefore only scheduled for during the long, dry winter months where our previous experience showed that we could experience up to a 10% decrease in production from a soiled block versus a clean block. Did you know that at our Salima Solar PV Project we have 228 000 panels, which will take the local team of 12 people, a total of 110 days to clean! #RenewableEnergy #SolarPV #SolarPanelCleaning #Malawi
