La protection de l'environnement est dans l'ADN de Strane Innovation depuis sa création. Nos activités évitent des milliers de tonnes de déchets industriels chaque année, limitent les prélèvements en eau dans le milieu naturel et sauvent des vies en cas d'inondations. Il était donc naturel de rejoindre la communauté du #CoqVert. 📅 On September 10th, Luz Salas and Antoine Claveau had the pleasure of participating in the workshop "Industrial Symbiosis from a Technical Perspective: Challenges and Opportunities" organized by LIAISE COST ACTION EU at the Oslo Region European Office in Brussels. This event brought together experts from across Europe who shared their experiences on technical and digital solutions to advance Industrial Symbiosis. 🌟 Our team presented the latest developments from the Hubs4Circularity Community of Practice project, focusing on an innovative methodology for the automated identification of high-potential Industrial-Urban Symbiosis (I-US) regions in Europe using geo-localized data. We are proud to have been voted the best poster of the session during the poster presentation! 🎉 💡 Our methodology in 3 key steps: 1. Identification of industrial clusters in Europe using public databases and a clustering algorithm.  2. Multicriteria comparison of the most promising clusters based on three factors: industrial diversity, inclusion in urban areas, and the number of potential synergies.  3. Mapping of the identified and selected clusters. 🔍 This promising methodology could be applied locally, helping authorities identify synergies and gain a better understanding of their regions! 🌱 Have you ever heard about #Transparent #Wood? This innovative composite material with low density and high mechanical strength has the potential to reduce the use of glass and plastics across multiple industries, including #construction, #automotive, #electronics, and #furniture. Strane Innovation is proud to be part of the AI-TranspWood Project, funded by the #HorizonEurope programme. The project not only aims to demonstrate the potential of Transparent Wood but also to develop an AI-driven multiscale methodology for designing new Safe and Sustainable by Design (#SSbD) wood-based composites. 🌍 🚀 After 9 months of progress, a meeting was held in Sassari (IT) on September 18-19 to bring together project partners (VTT Aalto University AIMPLAS · Technological Institute of Plastics BM Plastic Group CECAM Inuru KTH Royal Institute of Technology Latvijas Finieris AS Oyak Renault Politecnico di Torino Technische Universität Wien Università degli Studi di Sassari). It was a great opportunity to plan the next steps and ensure strong collaboration across all work packages. Strane Innovation is currently leading the exploitation tasks to ensure that product development is aligned with market needs and to maximize the project’s impact.
