👉 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐬 👈 Global attention is currently turning to Paris with the start of the Summer Olympics 2024. As it turns out, a data center plays a key role for the primary venue for 🏊♂️ aquatic events. The 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐎𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 is using excess data center heat from the Equinix PA10 data center in Paris to heat the Olympic pools. Three heat pumps are increasing the heat generated by the servers. The water of its liquid cooling systems is then distributed via heat exchanger to the heat network operator. Data center developers and operators around the world are increasingly attempting to improve efficiency by utilizing waste heat. Germany has the highest number of data centers in Europe, around 1,000 of which have a capacity of > 300 kW, according to #BMWK, and are subject to the obligations of the 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐭 (#EnEfG) and therefore also by the waste heat requirements set forth therein. ❗ Data centers that go into operation after 1.7.2026 must achieve certain power usage effectiveness (PUE) and waste heat utilization obligations. 💡 To gain an insight into our expertise please check out our brochure 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 https://lnkd.in/enpVrZXC
