It was inspiring to witness companies learning from each other—asking questions, sharing solutions, and working together to tackle the priority topics for the year ahead during the SBC Day.   Here are some of our key takeaways 👇 ✅ The impact of sustainability is becoming more operational. Is measuring 'negative' vs. 'positive' emissions enough? Join TOLSON and NEC - Net Environmental Contribution to explore a new approach to environmental impact assessment! 🌍 To align with the EU Taxonomy and comply with regional and local regulations, companies across the board are measuring and reporting their Carbon Footprint. Yet, increased granularity, complexity, and standardization of climate data requirements is pushing the market to measure beyond the traditional GHG Protocol and Scope 1, 2, and 3 categorization. → Insufficient transparency: The traditional GHG emissions measurement methodologies are binary and incomplete. There is no measurement methodology to evaluate the impact of emission on a granular scale. → Biased measurements: Scope 4 or "avoided emissions" are increasingly considered as an additional tool to better measure a company's impact, but simply avoiding doesn't entail creating positive impact. → Alternative holistic approach: Net impact can be defined as the net sum of all types of costs (i.e. negative impacts) and benefits (i.e. positive impacts) created by a company, including externalities.
