When is the last time your employer had a 'bring your kid to work day'? The Wall Street Journal is reporting that there are about 11 million Americans currently being referred to as the "sandwich generation" as they're working while balancing both young children and the aging relatives in their lives. At Top Employers Institute we’re seeing more Top Employers focus in on benefits that are *family friendly*. 📅 October Highlights ➡ What an incredible month it’s been! October was packed with inspiring HR events, impactful conversations, and meaningful connections with HR professionals who are as passionate as we are about shaping a better world of work. 🌍🤝⬇ ⭕ It was great to see everyone at our very own HR Beyond 2030 event in New York! Jake Canull and Tata Consultancy Services were thrilled to host a packed room of HR executives along with our esteemed panel of speakers. Hearing the different perspectives, enjoying the fall NYC view from Roosevelt Island, and learning about HR’s evolution helped to create an unforgettable experience. ⭕ In India, Billy Elliott, Manavi Baraya, Alisha Tuli 🎯 and Saadiq Samodien attended the SHRM India Annual Conference in New Delhi. It was great to make so many new connections and reconnect with many of our certified Top Employers. Our regional director, Billy Elliott hosted a fantastic session on the topic of “Beyond Good Intentions: Strategies That Move the Needle on Employee Wellness” with Capgemini, RNTBCI and Hyundai. ⭕ In Spain, we enjoyed an inspiring event around #sustainability with EADA Business School in Barcelona. Dr. Jordi Diaz, General Director of EADA highlighted the commitment to sustainability from his organisation, whilst Top Employers Institute's Regional Manager, Massimo Begelle, shared data from Spain's Top Employers, which showed that sustainability is clearly advancing as a business priority. During the round table conversation, representatives from MANGO, SEAT Cupra SA and Boehringer Ingelheim discussed the paradigm shift in leadership, sustainability as one of the pillars of their strategy and the importance of purpose. ⭕ We were thrilled to sponsor HR Tech in Antwerp, Belgium, where Monica van der Meeren delivered insights on Gen Z and the future of Learning & Development, based on our own research paper. ⭕ In the Netherlands, we proudly joined as a Silver Partner at #HRCoreAcademy in Amsterdam, exploring Talent Transformation and the future of L&D. Our Gen Z report, presented by Monica van der Meeren, received an enthusiastic response from the audience. Great to see so much excitement about the next generation of talent! ⭕ Gartner ReimagineHR, US helped us end October with a bang! From Dr Emily Cook's speaker session on Gen Z, to our US team connecting with HR professionals at our booth, we are so excited for all that’s to come! #TopEmployersInstitute #Forabetterworldofwork

What would you sacrifice for better wellbeing? The answer is clear for 62% of Gen Z employees: they’d trade a higher salary for a better work-life balance. This isn’t just a trend—it’s a shift in what today’s workforce values most. Employees prioritise their mental, physical, and emotional health more than perks or pay. And it’s not just Gen Z; employees of all ages call for change. 🧠 70% of employees prioritise mental health. 🕒 76% seek flexibility in when and where they work. So, why does this matter? Wellbeing isn’t a ‘nice to have’ anymore; it’s the foundation of a resilient, productive, and engaged workforce. Companies that genuinely listen and adapt to their teams’ wellbeing needs are building more than a supportive workplace—they’re investing in sustainable performance. But there’s still work to be done. Despite 80% of companies claiming to support employee wellbeing, only 25% of employees feel their needs are met. We must bridge this gap by making wellbeing a core part of business, not just a talking point. Wellbeing is good for people and good for business. Let’s prioritise it for the long-term success of our teams and the future of work.
