The ENERGICA Project: Paving the Way for Sustainable Energy in Africa! We are thrilled to be part of the EU-funded ENERGICA project, which aims to enhance access to electricity in both urban and rural areas across Africa. Trialog is primarily focused on the Nairobi initiative in Kenya, working in partnership with ROAM, the manufacturer of electric motorcycles and battery hubs. Our mission? To harness solar energy to power a fleet of electric scooters equipped with battery-swapping technology. This system enables users to book and ride these scooters with ease while swapping depleted batteries at dedicated HUBs. 🔋 How does it work? Trialog has deployed its Charge Station Management System (CSMS), Troca, to facilitate seamless communication between the battery hubs and Roam’s backend system, Canopy. This project directly supports several of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): - SDG 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy. - SDG 11: Promote sustainable cities and communities. - SDG 9: Build resilient infrastructure, encourage inclusive industrialization, and foster innovation. - SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change by advancing clean energy and transportation solutions. - SDG 8: Support sustainable economic growth and decent work through new opportunities in the clean energy and transportation sectors. - SDG 17: Strengthen global partnerships for sustainable development, as demonstrated by the collaboration between European and African stakeholders in clean energy and innovative mobility solutions. A review meeting was held on January 23rd in Kenya, where we visited the demonstration site. This site is where our partner Roam is installing the charging stations and assembling the motorcycles, showcasing the practical impact of this innovative initiative. #CleanEnergy #SustainableMobility
