🇫🇷 Regulating Fast Fashion: A Necessary Step Forward Last week, we welcomed Jean-François Longeot and VALENTE LE HIR SYLVIE, senators and key advocates for the Anti-Fast Fashion Bill, to discuss the urgent need for policy action. At Vestiaire Collective, we believe the fashion industry needs clear regulation to address the environmental and social impact of fast fashion. Fanny Moizant, Co-founder & President, shared how circular business models like ours create positive change, while Dounia Wone highlighted the environmental, social, and economic stakes. We are closely waiting for an official date to be announced by the French Sénat to continue moving this conversation forward. As the French Sénat president conference is tomorrow, we encourage policymakers to bring these discussions to the forefront. Systemic change requires collective action, and we hope France’s leadership sparks a broader European and global movement. Thank you to Fédération de la Mode Circulaire for organizing this vital conversation. At Vestiaire Collective, we’re committed to shaping a more responsible and sustainable fashion future. Let’s create better fashion for all. 🌍 #VestiaireCollective #ThinkFirstBuySecond #CircularFashion #StopFastFashion #Regulation

Fast Fashion’s Dirty Secret: 92 Million Tons of Waste Every Year ❌🌍 Today, we’ve joined a gathering in front of the French Sénat to remind everyone of the devastating consequences of fast fashion. At Vestiaire Collective, we stand by a simple philosophy: "Think First, Buy Second" We’ve always been a vocal opponent of fast fashion. Two years ago, we created a campaign showing mountains of fast fashion waste across the globe to raise awareness about this issue. With Shein being overconsumed in France, the consequences of fast fashion addiction are undeniable. Today marks the 1-year anniversary of the Anti Fast Fashion Bill being voted on by the French Assemblée nationale. On March 19th, the French Sénat will decide whether to add the Anti Fast Fashion Bill to the agenda. We urge the French government, especially Prime Minister François Bayrou and Minister of Ecological Transition Agnès Pannier-Runacher, to take action, and call on our global community to stand with us. This is our chance to create real, lasting change, with France leading the way in tackling this issue, promoting mindful consumption, and setting a global example for others to follow. Join us, spread the word, reshare this video! A heartfelt thank you to ActionAid, Les Amis de la Terre France, Label Emmaüs, Emmaüs France, Collectif Ethique sur l'Etiquette, Max Havelaar France, Fashion Revolution France, France Nature Environnement, HOP - Halte à l'obsolescence programmée, REFER - Réseau Francilien du Réemploi, Réseau National des Ressourceries et Recycleries, and Zero Waste France for organizing this gathering. Together, we are making a difference. #VestiaireCollective #ThinkFirstBuySecond #SustainableFashion #MindfulConsumption #AntiFastFashion #StopFastFashion #LesAmisDeLaTerre #FashionForTheFuture Fanny Moizant Sophie Hersan Dounia Wone

Let’s keep breaking barriers and amplifying women’s voices at Vestiaire Collective! 🚀 As the only French Unicorn co-founded by women, we are proud to champion gender equality achieving 50% at EXCOM level while celebrating the boost of women’s leadership roles from 32% to 43% in the past 2 years. Despite the challenges we face due to the industry's legacy, we’re proud that women already make up 25% of our tech and product teams, a number we are committed to growing. As a fashion tech company, when we identify gaps, we take action. To drive change, we ensure that every recruitment process for leadership positions includes at least one female candidate in the shortlist. We apply the same approach across different departments whenever we spot disparities. This is an ongoing journey! At Vestiaire Collective, we will keep building a more inclusive future, for our teams, the industry, and paving the way for the next generation of female leaders. #VestiaireCollective #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2025 #GenderEquality #WomenEmpowerment #Women #WomenInTech #Leadership #CollectiveForChange

🌍 As a member of the ACT (American Circular Textiles), our North America CEO Samina Virk joined the Executive Lobby Day in Washington DC, advocating for policies to encourage textile circularity. At Vestiaire Collective, we’ve engaged with policymakers to address a variety of strategic topics, including the Americas Act, which presents an opportunity to support textile reuse, repair, and recycling at a federal level. We’ve provided key insights on how the private sector can drive circularity and the importance of having appropriate legislation and incentives to allow sustainable businesses to thrive. We are eager to continue our collaboration with decision makers to accelerate the adoption of circular solutions. Since inception, our mission has remained unchanged: to transform the fashion industry for a more sustainable future, through empowering our community to shop more consciously. Great to connect with leaders in government, including Sydney Kamlager and Chellie Pingree. We would like to thank the ACT (American Circular Textiles) and Rachel Van Metre Kibbe for making it happen, and to our circular economy peers GAMBERT SHIRTMAKERS, Project Repat, Circ®, Garson & Shaw, LLC, USAgain, MacroCycle Technologies, unspun™, and ThredUp for their collaboration in advancing this crucial dialogue. #VestiaireCollective #CircularEconomy #Circularity #PolicyAdvocacy #Sustainability

🚨 WHERE IS FRANCE'S ANTI-FAST FASHION BILL? : France’s scrapping of the Anti-fast Fashion Bill is a national scandal. For the past 10 months the Bill has been sitting in the Senate since its unanimous vote in the National Assembly on March 14 2024. Meanwhile SHEIN hires Christophe Castaner, former French Minister of Interior, and the Bill vanishes from the Senate's agenda, initially planned to be reviewed on March 26th. But enough is enough… Since its launch, Vestiaire Collective has been a vocal opponent of disposable fashion. Vestiaire Collective is closely tracking the Bill’s progress and the reasons behind its delay—especially the role of government influence and lobbying at the expense of French businesses and the communities affected by fast fashion brand’s practices. Today we’re calling on French President Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister François Bayrou, Agnès Pannier-Runacher Minister of Ecological Transition, Jean-François Longeot, President of the Senate Standing Committee on Sustainable Development, Anne-Cécile Violland and Yaël Braun-Pivet Deputies of the French National Assembly and to please put this vital Bill back on the agenda. And we’re asking our community–in France and beyond–to share in our outrage and stand with us. #ThinkFirstBuySecond #JoinTheMovement #StopShein Fanny Moizant Sophie Hersan Dounia Wone

Vestiaire Collective donates to The Or Foundation and Calls Fast Fashion Brands for Action in Solidarity with the fire in Kantamanto Market, Ghana. Following the devastating fire that ravaged Kantamanto Market in Accra, Ghana on January 1, 2025, Vestiaire Collective is urging fast fashion brands to take responsibility and donate. The crisis in the Global South, fueled by fast fashion overconsumption and overproduction from the Global North, is now reaching a breaking point. As part of its first response to help the local community, Vestiaire Collective has launched a click-to-donate campaign on social media. The company has also committed to a donation to The Or Foundation to support the cleanup and rebuilding efforts. Thousands of traders have been displaced and shops destroyed after a devastating fire at the world’s largest secondhand clothing market in Accra, Ghana. The Or Foundation needs emergency donations to help rebuild, as well as keep the Kantamanto community afloat physically and financially. We’re calling on the fast fashion brands whose textile waste washes up on Ghana’s beaches to join us in donating today. “This devastating fire is a wake-up call for the fashion industry to address overconsumption and growing global fashion waste — it's time to take responsibility and support Kantamanto’s rebuilding.” - Fanny Moizant “Kantamanto’s traders have been managing the fashion industry’s waste for years; this fire highlights a broken system, and we must ensure they receive the support they need to rebuild.” - Dounia Wone #VestiaireCollective #ThinkFirstBuySecond #Impact #Donation #SustainableFashion #TextileWaste #CircularEconomy #SecondHandClothing #KantamantoMarket #GlobalRegulations

As the year is coming to an end, we want to take a moment to reflect on Vestiaire Collective’s achievements. In 2024, Vestiaire Collective… 🌍 Enabled its community to become shareholders by raising €3M through a crowdfunding campaign of 3,000+ participants across Europe and the UK. Additionally, 100% of Vestiaire Collective employees are now shareholders too. 💥With Rickie De Sole's appointment achieving 45% of women on the board and Stacia Carr's appointment as CTPO bringing the Executive Committee to gender parity, Vestiaire Collective proudly surpasses the French Tech Parity Pact’s targets. 🇫🇷 Vestiaire Collective was featured in the 1st episode of the fourth season of 'Emily in Paris', one of Netflix's most popular shows! ♻️ Vestiaire Collective joined forces with the Fédération de la Mode Circulaire and 26 other organizations asking the French Sénat to resume work on the Anti-Fast Fashion Bill, and we are thrilled they’ve committed to restart discussions in early 2025—a vital step toward a more sustainable fashion industry. A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated team and supporters! Next year, Vestiaire Collective will continue shaping a better future for the fashion industry. #VestiaireCollective #ThinkFirstBuySecond #Circularity
