12 million women in India suffer from UTI ?! And that's just the reported cases in India. Behind every statistic is a story - for Vikas Bagaria, it began with his wife’s UTI during a road trip. What started as a husband's concern transformed into PeeSafe's mission to protect women's health, creating India's first toilet seat sanitizer. Sometimes our deepest personal challenges spark the most meaningful solutions! The stark reality: Only 35% of Indian women use proper menstrual hygiene products, compared to 98% in the US and 95% in Sri Lanka. As per recent studies in 2024 Only 45% of Indian menstruator use period care products. This shows the massive opportunity to drive change! Breaking taboos: PeeSafe's journey from toilet hygiene to sexual wellness products proves how crucial it is to have open conversations about women's health and pleasure. Market evolution: The women's pleasure and wellness category is growing rapidly, outpacing men's. This signals a positive shift in women taking charge of their health and intimate needs. What inspired me the most was learning how PeeSafe is empowering women to take control of their health journey from puberty to menopause. In Vikas's words, "My purpose is to empower women to take charge of their sexuality and help reduce the risk of unwanted pregnancy and STDs." Thank you Vikas Bagaria for this candid conversation about building purpose-driven businesses that challenge societal taboos and create real impact. #WomensHealth #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #BreakingTaboos #SexualWellness

Austrian Federal Minister of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection Johannes Rauch experiencing simulated period pain - while launching the first ever national #MenstrualHealth report I really admire the minister’s level of engagement in promoting the new report of his ministry - Bundesministerium für Soziales, Gesundheit, Pflege und Konsumentenschutz 🇦🇹 (Gesundheit Österreich GmbH) I hope this sets precedent for other ministers and governments to follow. #LetsTalkPERIOD Just sharing the minister’s instagram clip and the main results of the report as a teaser: “The report on menstrual health is the first to provide representative data for Austria on behalf of the Ministry of Health, offering an overview of health-relevant factors in connection with #menstruation, #menopause and #endometriosis. 🩸On average, menstruating women have their first menstruation (menarche) at the age of 13. 🩸84 % report an average bleeding duration of 5 days. 🩸Just over 70 % rate the intensity of bleeding as rather heavy to very heavy. 🩸67 % rate the pain during menstruation as moderate to very severe, of which 36 % have severe or very severe pain. 🩸A range of physical and psychosocial health burdens related with menstruation have a very strong or strong impact on areas of life such as sex life (26%), everyday working life (19%), leisure life and social contacts (21%). 🩸Overall, 55.4 % of women take painkillers every month to deal with menstrual pain. 🩸The most frequently used menstrual products in Austria are tampons, sanitary towels and panty liners. 🩸4.7 % of menstruating women have difficulties affording menstrual products every month and 16 % have difficulties affording them occasionally. The results show significant correlations with age, income and formal education for the indicators of affordability of menstrual products. Menstruating women with a lower personal or household income and with a lower level of formal education are significantly more likely to state that they cannot afford menstrual products. They are also more likely to experience restrictions in terms of social participation due to menstrual pain.” 🔗 Link to the full report including a summary in English (p. 6/7) in comments ©️Insta @_johannesrauch Global Menstrual Collective Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA) Institut für Zyklusgesundheit Candice Chirwa Marni Sommer Arundati Muralidharan Bhuvana Balaji Angelica Broman Cristina Ljungberg Wendy Anderson Dominic O' Neill Emily Wilson Dr Jennifer Martin Thorsten Kiefer Inga Winkler Gerda Binder 🙏 Daphne Manolakos Bettina-Sophie Heinz

Are women sacrificing health for career? Unfortunately, it seems so. More than a quarter of women grapple with health challenges related to menstruation, menopause, or fertility. And across each of these challenges, a common theme remains true: many are working through pain or discomfort, reveals Deloitte's Women @ Work report. Approximately 40% women experiencing high levels of pain or discomfort from menopause work through their symptoms, nearly double the percentage reported in 2023. Moreover, a growing number of women say they don't feel comfortable discussing their menopause symptoms with their manager (14%) compared to last year (10%), perhaps because 16% of women say citing menopause as a reason for taking time off work has negatively affected their career—a sharp jump from 6% in 2023. Furthermore, nearly one in six women facing challenges related to menstruation, menopause, or fertility fear that speaking about these issues at work would affect their career progression. Notably, one in 10 believe doing so would make them vulnerable to redundancy. Breaking the silence on women's health challenges in the workplace is long overdue. Many of us silently bear the burden of pain and discomfort, fearing career repercussions or dismissal, as the report reveals. It's time to shatter the taboo and speak out. How can we know if support exists unless we ask for it? At the same time, organizations must step up to normalize discussions around women's health and provide the support needed. By training leaders, revising policies, and fostering a culture of openness, we can create workplaces where every woman feels empowered to prioritize her health without fear. Let's break down those barriers and create workplaces where every woman feels empowered to prioritize her health without fear of judgment or consequence. There has been a lot of debate about women safety and security in last couple of weeks and rightly so. I look at evolution of society with lens of healthcare parameters and there lies the most unfortunate part. Everyone claims to solve the Indian problem which exists and affects only 1 percent of population, Since 1947, India has made strides in women’s health, yet the gap between us and global standards is alarming. For example , 1.MMR- From 2,000/100,000 live births in 1950 to 103 today, but still far behind countries like Norway (<5). 2.IMR: Improved from 150/1,000 in 1947 to 28 today, yet much higher than Sweden (2). 3.Life Expectancy: Women’s life expectancy rose from 32 years in 1947 to 71, but countries like Switzerland reach 86. 4. Cancer: Breast and cervical cancers account for 40% of cases, with a 50% mortality rate compared to <10% in the U.S. 5.Infertility: Affects 10-15% of married couples, leading to significant mental health challenges. 6.Menopause & PCOS: 20% experience early menopause; 10% suffer from PCOS, impacting overall health. Private and public sector can not solve the burden alone . There has to be a modal which will need public sector's scale and private sector's efficiency . Above all, women health and wellness industry should get the desired attention to begin with and then we create a healthy and secure society for women. #Women #Health #India #Healthcare #MMR #IMR #CancerAwareness #Infertility #Menopause #PCOS #Equality #HealthEcosystem
