According to the “Europe's Leading Start-up Hubs” #Ranking, by the Financial Times, #Portugal 🇵🇹 has 6 #startup #incubators among the 125 most #innovative #hubs in #Europe 🇪🇺, with 2 being in the Top 10: 👏👏 - Startup Braga appears in 7th position, with an evaluation of 80,988 points (the #1 scored 86.762), and - Startup Lisboa/Unicorn Factory Lisboa, with an evaluation of 80,011, stands as #10 Also in this ranking, from Portugal, are BGI - Sustainable Ventures (#25), Instituto Pedro Nunes (#44), Casa do Impacto (#75), and Beta-i • collaborative innovation (#124) 💪 “This distinction from the #FinancialTimes and #Statistica confirms the strong growth that #UnicornFactoryLisboa, and the #StartupLisboa incubation program in particular, has been achieving since 2022. For the year 2024, the objective is to support more than a hundred new #early-stage startups and this top position in the ranking highlights the quality of our #program and increases the interest of international startups, where we already have a percentage of 56% international”, said the executive director of Unicorn Factory Lisboa, Gil Azevedo. 🥇 🇳🇱 The Startup Genome, an innovation ecosystem development organization, has recently released the Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2024, providing a comprehensive analysis of the current state of #startup #ecosystems worldwide. This year, the Netherlands has risen to the top of the startup ecosystem in the #EU, surpassing both Paris and Berlin, and ranks 13th globally. According to the report, the Netherlands' ecosystem reached a value of $96 billion between 2021 and 2023, significantly higher than the global average of $29.4 billion. During this period, the Netherlands saw the emergence of six #unicorns, including Mambu and bunq. In terms of funding, Dutch VC-backed startups raised $2.2bn last year, with the number of deals rising to 414, from 393 in 2022. They created 151,000 jobs in the Netherlands and 256,000 globally. The Dutch tech ecosystem is especially strong in #fintech, #health and #lifesciences, #agrifood, and the #chip sector. 🇵🇹 🤝 Overall, this report reinforces the attractiveness of the Netherlands in this sector, highlighting its global talent pool, thriving investment landscape and a solid entrepreneurial ecosystem. These advantages make the Netherlands an ideal destination for startups to scale up as well as for technology companies wishing to develop their business in the Benelux region. 🚀 Insights from the #GSER2023: Home to more than 24 million people, São Paulo is the largest economic and industrial center in the southern hemisphere and a vibrant startup hub. Highlights of the ecosystem include: • São Paulo is home to 2,770 startups, the highest number by far in Brazil, including 11 valued at $1 billion or more. • There are 51 existing and 22 planned data center facilities in the country, with São Paulo being the nation’s primary data center hub. • São Paulo has emerged as a hub for Edtech companies in Brazil.
