  • 🌍 International Day of Older Persons 2024 🌍 Together, We Care for Our Elders and Their Memories On this International Day of Older Persons, we at the Georgian Alzheimer's Association would like to shine a light on the importance of supporting and caring for the elderly, particularly those affected by dementia and Alzheimer's disease. As our loved ones age, they face unique challenges, but none is more isolating than the gradual loss of memory and independence. Alzheimer’s disease is not just an illness; it’s a silent struggle that affects families, friends, and caregivers. On this day, let’s remember: 🧠 The Power of Understanding: Early detection and supportive care can greatly improve quality of life. 🤝 The Importance of Community: No one should face dementia alone. 💜 The Need for Compassion: A kind word or simple gesture can make a world of difference. We call on society to build a more inclusive and understanding community for our elderly—one where no memory is forgotten, and every elder is respected and cared for. Let’s honor their contributions and ensure they receive the dignity and support they deserve. #internationaldayofolderpersons #alzheimergeorgia #timetoactondementia #timetoactonalzheimers #togetherwecandoit

It’s the responsibility of every compassionate person to show respect and love. 🔸 In Georgia, the Alzheimer’s Association continues to lead efforts to break the stigma surrounding dementia. • 💡 September is a time dedicated to raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia—a condition that affects millions of people around the world, including countless families in our own community. Alzheimer’s is more than just memory loss; it’s a complex, progressive neurological disease that gradually takes away the ability to perform even the simplest tasks. This month, we stand with those living with Alzheimer’s, their families, and the incredible caregivers who provide unwavering support. 👉 Throughout September, let's commit to learning more about this condition, advocating for better care and services, and supporting the vital research efforts aimed at finding effective treatments and ultimately, a cure. Awareness is the first step in making a difference. 💡 This month is also a reminder that while Alzheimer’s can rob individuals of their memories, it cannot erase the love, resilience, and humanity of those who live with it. We can all contribute to building a more compassionate and supportive society, where those affected by Alzheimer’s are met with understanding and dignity. 🙏 Join us in spreading awareness, sharing stories, and showing solidarity. Together, we can support the fight against Alzheimer’s. Every voice, every effort, and every bit of awareness brings us closer to ending this disease 💜 ▫ ერთად ყველაფერს შევძლებთ! #WorldAlzheimersMonth #timetoactondementia #timetoactonalzheimers
