📢 PEACE Fellowship Update! In an era where cross-border threats and community conflicts pose growing challenges, how do we build sustainable peace in Northern Ghana? With funding from the US Embassy in Ghana, a Deep Dive Training was held in Bolgatanga, marking another milestone in the PEACE (Professionals Engaged Against Conflicts and Endangerments) fellowship project. Professional security officers were taken through a series of activities on the theme "Enhancing Professionalism in the Security Sector for Sustainable Peace in Northern Ghana." Here are some highlights: 🔹 DCOP Raymond Adofiem, Upper East Regional Commander of Ghana Police Service, delivered compelling remarks, emphasizing the project's alignment with their mission of enhancing security service professionalism. He underscored the significance of trainings like these to provide personnel with the necessary tools to more effectively engage their communities. 🔹 PEACE Fellows and Community Liaisons engaged in dynamic experience-sharing sessions, offering valuable insights from their community immersion work. 🔹 Solomon Okai led an intensive session on "Conflict Analysis in Practice," equipping participants with professional tools for understanding and addressing conflict and security challenges. 🔹 Dorothy Barnes, programme officer, #FOSDA facilitated sessions on mediation techniques and emotional intelligence, strengthening participants' professional conflict management and resolution competencies. Together, we are building a cadre of professional security personnel equipped with contemporary conflict prevention and resolution strategies, contributing to sustainable peace in northern Ghana.
