Mobile Healthcare Clinic
About us
For over fifteen years, the Gye Nyame mobile clinic has been delivering professional psychiatric, and pediatric services and providing surgical treatments to children and adults in the Western and Ashanti regions of Ghana. Ghana is a rapidly developing country with more than 30 million inhabitants. Yet people who live in rural areas – over half the population – have limited if any access to medical care. Gye Nyame Mobile Clinic (GNMC) was the brainchild – and remains the passion – of two medical doctors, Dr. Ori Shwarzman and Dr. Britta Budde-Schwartzman. Since its inception, they have volunteered their time and expertise through ongoing visits to Ghana. GNMC and its partnering hospitals have established 16 rural health posts. We have trained 257 psychiatric nurses in Ghana. GNMC´s counted 38,006 patient visits from 2007 to 2021. We are networking with 8 district hospitals to perform kids‘ operations

Training on Newborn Surgery in Outreach Settings. Led by Dr. Britta Schwartzman: A Vital Step Forward for Gye Nyame Mobile Clinic. The GNMC team at St. Patrick’s Hospital had the privilege of attending a training session on newborn surgery, led by our Director, Dr. Britta Schwartzman, Pediatric Surgeon on Monday, October 28th. This training was an essential part of a series designed to equip the outreach teams with critical skills to improve healthcare delivery in remote communities, where our mobile clinic operates. Dr. Britta’s session focused on understanding the best practices for newborn surgery in outreach settings, emphasizing on how conditions might appear, the importance of timely local care and making informed decisions about referrals. In resource-limited environments, the ability to make swift and accurate decisions regarding whether to treat or transfer a newborn is crucial for improving outcomes. Dr. Britta’s guidance provided the team with practical approaches and strategies to optimize patient care under such circumstances. Given the success of previous sessions, it is recommended that similar training programs continue to strengthen the team’s expertise. GNMC strives to keep investing in the professional development of its team to address emerging healthcare needs in outreach settings. Our mobile clinics teams are grateful for Dr. Britta’s commitment to their growth and eagerly anticipates future training sessions under her guidance. #pediatric #surgery #impact #ImpactWell #lastmile #ghana #outreach #Ghana #Ashanti #hospital #medicalteams #training #healthcare #neonatal #mobileclinics #mobileclinic

Minerva XR Pediatric Trauma Training in Virtual reality, this time at St. Peters Hospital , Jacobu. Supported by JDC (The Joint) #ImpactWell and Ruderman Family Foundation. St Peter 's Hospital invited carefully selected medical teams, who participated in the hospital's CPR training three months ago to join the Trauma VR training . Our aim is to compare how the VR training they are about to go through, can not just be additional to the hands on training , but can possibly replace the traditional training. We are excited to examine the efficiency of this unique technologically supported training tool in training medical teams. #ImpactWell #XR #VR #Ghana #Innovation #IIT #Israeli #Technological #Virtualreality #Training #Handson #Extendedreality #Hospital #Pediatrics Britta Schwartzman Ido Peretz Bar Maizel
