In the late afternoon of April 8th, 2022, a devastating storm struck Eguafo, in the KEEA constituency leaving the community in shock. Within the span of just two and a half hours, the Junior High School (JHS) block at Eguafo M/A Basic School had its roof torn off by fierce winds and thunder, exposing classrooms and endangering the lives of students and staff alike. Since that day, over two years have passed without any external assistance, leaving the school and its students vulnerable...

In April 2022, the Eguafo M/A Basic School JHS block was devastated by a severe storm, leaving the students and community without a safe learning environment for over two years. The school, a cornerstone for education since 1948, serves three vital communities—Ponkrom, Eguafo, and Breman—and educates 431 students. Today, we’re excited to announce that, with the generous support of our Irish partner, RazorSpire, we are stepping in to roof the school. This project is not just about restoring a building; it’s about restoring hope and opportunity for hundreds of children. We believe in the power of dreams and the impact of making a difference. On Friday, May 10th, 2024, the second WISE Power Session took place at Kwesiedum M.A. Primary School, situated on the outskirts of KEEA near the Western Region. The session facilitated a free, open discussion where students felt comfortable asking sensitive questions and receiving answers they were satisfied with. Students shared insights into their daily lives, discussing how they engage in extra work such as farming, selling in the market, and carrying loads after school hours to afford menstrual hygiene products and other personal needs. https://lnkd.in/dTajKUMZ

It was beautiful at Kwesiedum M.A. Primary School on the far fringes of KEEA, to donate some shoes after our regular Women In Sexual Education talk. Most of these children have been walking barefooted to school throughout the term, but today with the support of Marlene Fuller we have changed that. They now more than ever, have a motivation to go to school. We are thrilled to announce a strategic partnership between the Michael Kunke Foundation and RazorSpire, an Irish-based digital marketing company, as part of our "Education Empowerment for Sustainable Communities (EESC) initiative." One of the pivotal objectives of our EESC program is the Digital Literacy Program, designed to provide essential training to students and community members in basic computer skills and internet usage. Our aim is to equip individuals with the necessary tools to leverage technology for both educational advancement and livelihood opportunities. In line with this mission, we are grateful for the collaboration with RazorSpire and Lemon Beach Resort, who are generously supporting the establishment of a computer center at the Roman Girl's Primary School in Elmina.
