A celebration! 🎶💃🕺👏 On Wednesday, UNIDO, the European Union in Ghana and the Ministry of Trade and Industry closed out the West Africa Competitiveness Programme (WACOMP)-Ghana project after more than five years of work. With a budget of €6,350,000, the initiative aimed to improve the competitiveness of the #cassava, #mango, #pineapple, #cosmetics and personal care product value chains. ⚡📌The project has had a significant impact, benefiting 48,849 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including more than 31,000 women-owned businesses, which have continuously improved their competitiveness in accessing national and international markets. 👏👏Thanks to the project, 16 new standards have been developed and promoted to enhance the quality and consumer protection of cosmetics and personal care, cassava products both in and outside Ghana. Today, we had an exciting digital showcase session with selected members of the European Union in Ghana -financed UNIDO #WACOMPGhana cluster groups in the cassava, cosmetics, and fruits value chain. The session focused on their digital and e-commerce journey with the WACOMP project. R and R’s Marketing Manager Ms. Gigi Rose Mann, shared their experience of learning to use #SEO to boost sales on their website and on different e-commerce channels such as Shopify, Etsy, Jumia, and others. Churchwin Trading’s Chief Executive Officer, Churchill Kumadey, gave insight on how to start small and simple online and excel as an e-commerce business on Amazon, eBay, and Etsy, among others. Participants also had the opportunity to ask digital-focused future SMEs questions during an interactive peer session on global selling success facilitated by #UNIDO International E-commerce expert, Ms. Sarah Carroll.
