Empowering Adolescents Through Edutainment: SRHR Meets Fun at Bincheratanga JHS The team visited Bincheratanga JHS in the Nanumba North District for an exciting quiz competition that engaged students in critical discussions about Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR). Following the quiz, we introduced a fun Yes or No game that sparked a debate on menstruation being "dirty" or not. This discussion uncovered cultural practices that restrict girls from cooking while menstruating. We emphasized that menstruation is a natural phenomenon and not something to be stigmatized. The students were encouraged to maintain good menstrual hygiene and break the silence around this important issue. Reproductive Health Education (RHE) is essential for every student! Together, let’s empower our youth to embrace their bodies and make informed choices. #Y4H #SRHR

Happy International Day of the Girl Child✨️ Today, as we commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child, we echo the global call of investing into Girls visions and creating safe spaces where girls can thrive, dream, and grow without fear. It's time for duty bearers to step up by creating and enforcing supportive policies that ensure girls are not held back by violence, discrimination, and outdated norms. Girls deserve environments that encourage them to pursue their dreams without barriers. We must unite to end inhumane cultural practices such as child marriage and female genital mutilation, which continue to rob girls of their future. Now is the time to invest in their dreams, amplify their voices, and protect their rights. At Youth Advocates Ghana (YAG), we remain committed to promoting girls' Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) through initiatives like the Y4H Project and various community-based activities. From edutainment-based SRHR education in schools to advocating for menstrual health and hygiene, we are fostering a generation of empowered girls who are agents of change in their communities. Together, we can build a future where every girl has the freedom to thrive, the courage to lead, and the power to change the world. She deserves to thrive, not just survive. #SupportGirlsDreams #SRHRForAll #IDG2024

Empowering Adolescents Through Edutainment: SRHR Meets Fun at Nnalog R/C JHS At Nnalog RC JHS, students captivated their peers with a role play on “Standing Firm Against Peer Pressure.” The drama depicted a girl who faced pressure from her boyfriend to have sex. Confused yet resolute, she sought support from a friend, who wisely suggested they visit the school counselor. With the counselor's guidance, she confidently said NO, ultimately stopping the pressure. This performance highlighted the importance of seeking advice when faced with challenges, reinforcing that students are never alone in their struggles. Mr. Nagob N. Francis, the Head Teacher, emphasized the positive impact of the revitalized health club, stating, "Since its revival, our students’ personal hygiene has improved significantly. This year, we haven't recorded any teenage pregnancies. Their self-confidence has soared; they now openly share their challenges with teachers and spread what they’ve learned, resulting in a rapid increase in club membership." Together, we’re empowering young minds to make informed choices and stand strong against negative influences. #Y4H #SRHR
