A Jurassic World Version of Pokémon Go Is Coming to Your Phone

After a few years of running around outside catching wild Pokémon, fans will soon have the opportunity to do the same with dinosaurs.

The game developer Ludia just announced that it’s making the Jurassic Park version of Pokémon Go. It’s called Jurassic World Alive, and it’s a mobile, location-based, augmented reality game that’ll be out this summer, tied to the release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Fans will be able to run around their cities, catch rare dinosaurs, incubate them, even create their own by extracting dino DNA and then pitting their hybrid dinos against other fan creations.

“With Jurassic World Alive, our goal is for audiences to be fully immersed into a world with living dinosaurs in a way that’s never been possible until today,” President and CEO of Ludia, Alex Thabet, said in a press release. “We’re giving them the opportunity to explore and connect with likeminded players while building and interacting with these powerful prehistoric species.”

The game will be out “just ahead” of the film’s release on June 22 and will be available on the App Store and Google Play. Here’s the trailer.
