Feed the Drawing Machine an Image, and It Will Sketch It

Anything that automates the creative process probably doesn’t deserve a place in this world, but in the case of the Drawing Machine, I’ll let it slide. The Arduino software can turn any JPEG photo into a handrawn (well, robot-drawn) image.

It can takes weeks or months to complete the image, and every time the same image is drawn, they’ll be completely different, much like your hand would make. This is down to the code having a random element to it, a fact of which makes Harvey Moon’s Drawing Machine all the more interesting. Check out the video over on Wired’s site, and then get busy dreaming of sketching photos of Alison Brie or whatever it was you were all obsessing over in the comments yesterday. [Wired]
