🔗 Strong funding support for #DESFA’s investment plan via #RRF by Greek banks! 🤝 Four major Greek banks - Piraeus, National Bank of Greece, Alpha Bank, and Eurobank, employing EU Recovery and Resilience Greece 2.0 loans 🇪🇺, have reiterated their support for DESFA’s #investmentplan fully oriented towards the #energytransition with the signing of an €810 million Common Bond Loan. 🌱 This financing will drive DESFA’s initiatives to position #Greece as an #energyhub and accelerate the country’s #decarbonization efforts by scaling up the #hydrogen value chain with the development of key #hydrogeninfrastructure. 🌍 Advancing an Integrated Regional Gas Market! 🤝At the CESEC Ministerial Meeting in Budapest, #DESFA, along with nine other gas #TSOs from Central and Southeastern Europe, took a significant step forward by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on regional #gasquality harmonization. This collaboration brings together TSOs from #Greece, #Bulgaria, #Romania, #NorthMacedonia, #Croatia, #Moldova, #Ukraine, #Slovenia, and #Hungary to work on a joint approach and action plan to harmonize gas quality requirements at their #InterconnectionPoints across the #CESEC region.🔗 🌐Why does this matter? Harmonizing gas quality is essential for bolstering regional #interconnectivity, supporting #diversification of gas supply sources and enhancing #energysecurity. This unified approach not only enables the full potential of key initiatives such as the #VerticalCorridor but also ensures #interoperability and builds a more #integrated and #efficient regional #energymarket. 🖋️DESFA along with FGSZ Földgázszállító Zrt. coordinated the MoU signing process, with Chief Asset Management Officer, Nikos Katsis, introducing the MoU along with FGSZ  at the ministerial meeting. 🗓️ The TSOs will jointly assess by 30 April 2025 the impact of harmonizing gas quality requirements in the CESEC region on the affected interconnection agreements, and by 30 April 2025 will have to produce an #actionplan containing an estimate of necessary steps and timing for the development of harmonized gas quality requirements.

🌍DESFA at the Southeast Europe Connectivity Forum II  Sotirios Bravos, Chief Officer of Commercial Services at DESFA, took part in the panel discussion "Energy bridge: Connecting Southeast Europe" at the Southeast Europe Connectivity Forum II in Thessaloniki. During the discussion, Mr. Bravos shared insights on enhancing Greece’s export capacity, the pipeline to North Macedonia, and the strategic role of the Vertical Corridor in energy security and diversification of natural gas supply sources in Southeast Europe. 📊 DESFA's Natural Gas Consumption Data – First Nine Months of 2024 In the first nine months of 2024, natural gas consumption by large industries and CNG stations showed a significant increase of 87.93% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 6.54 TWh. This represents 13.73% of the total domestic demand for natural gas. Power producers continue to lead in consumption, accounting for 69.52% of domestic demand, with 33.13 TWh out of a total of 47.65 TWh. Meanwhile, consumption by distribution networks fell by 2.33%, covering 16.75% of demand with 7.98 TWh.
