On Tuesday, 18 June, for the first time in the 117-year history of SEV Hellenic Federation of Enterprises | ΣΕΒ σύνδεσμος επιχειρήσεων και βιομηχανιών, elections were held for the election of the President and the Board of Directors. Mr Theodoropoulos was elected President, while Mr Evangelos Chrysafis, Vice President and Executive Board Member for Regulatory and Strategic Issues of Energy & Infrastructure Projects of #Metlen Energy & Metals and President of METKA ATE, was elected to the new Board of Directors. Mr. Chrysafis has previously participated in SEV’s Energy Committee, where he contributed to changes in the domestic and European regulatory environment. In particular, he contributed to the liberalisation of the gas and electricity markets, while pursuing the modernisation of the energy sector and the securing of competitive energy costs for the energy-intensive industry in Greece.

BOUSSIAS Events, under the auspices of ELINYAE - Hellenic Institute for Occupational Health and Safety, organized this year's Health & Safety Awards, and #MYTILINEOS was honored with three very significant awards. The "Νοιάζομαι" initiative of the Aluminium of Greece plant of the Metallurgy Sector of #MYTILINEOS was awarded GOLD in the "Work H&S Training Program & Awareness Initiative" category, among 19 nominations. At the same time, METKA received the WINNER award in the "Transportation Infrastructure" category for the Aktion – Amvrakia Motorway project and the BRONZE award in the "H&S System Update & Performance Improvement" category for the Operational Health & Safety Systems in Infrastructure projects. Στα κρίσιμα «κλειδιά» για την ομαλή εκτέλεση ενός έργου υποδομής αναφέρθηκε ο κ. Ντίνος Μπενρουμπή, Αντιπρόεδρος & Διευθύνων Σύμβουλος της ΜΕΤΚΑ ΑΤΕ, σε συζήτηση του με τον δημοσιογράφο του ΑΠΕ, Αιμίλιο Περδικάρη, που διεξήχθη στα πλαίσια του “Delphi Economic Forum 2024”. Ο κ. Μπενρουμπή σημείωσε ότι η τεχνογνωσία της ΜΕΤΚΑ ΑΤΕ, σε συνδυασμό με την κεφαλαιακή επάρκεια της ως θυγατρικής της MYTILINEOS S.A., αλλά και οι πολύ ανταγωνιστικοί όροι χρηματοδότησης που επιτυγχάνει η MYTILINEOS S.A., συμβάλλουν στην επιτυχία διεκδίκησης και υλοποίησης έργων ΣΔΙΤ. Πρόσθεσε, παράλληλα, πως σημαντικά νέα σημεία, που θα χρειαστεί να εστιάσει ο κατασκευαστικός κλάδος, είναι η βελτίωση της ανθεκτικότητας των έργων απέναντι σε φυσικές καταστροφές, καθώς και η χρήση υλικών φιλικών προς το περιβάλλον. Mr. Dinos Benroubi, Vice Chairman & CEO of METKA ATE, referred to the crucial factors for the smooth execution of an infrastructure project, participating in the "Delphi Economic Forum 2024". Mr. Benroubi noted that METKA ATE's technical expertise, alongside the financial strength of MYTILINEOS S.A., as well as the favorable financing terms the company can achieve, contribute to the successful implementation of the projects. Furthermore, he added that the main points the construction sector will need to focus on are improving the resilience of projects against natural disasters, as well as the adoption of more environmentally friendly materials.

Στις ευκαιρίες, αλλά και στις προκλήσεις στον κλάδο υποδομών και κατασκευών αναφέρθηκε ο κ. Ντίνος Μπενρουμπή, Αντιπρόεδρος και CEO της ΜΕΤΚΑ ΑΤΕ, στο Συνέδριο «ΥΠΟΔΟΜΕΣ και ΔΙΚΤΥΑ».  Ο κ. Μπενρουμπή επεσήμανε τη σημασία των κριτηρίων της κεφαλαιακής και τεχνικής επάρκειας στα δημόσια έργα, ενώ υπογράμμισε τον πρωταγωνιστικό ρόλο της ΜΕΤΚΑ ΑΤΕ και στα ιδιωτικά έργα, που αναμένεται να αυξηθούν σημαντικά τα επόμενα χρόνια.

He emphasized the event's focus on the future while highlighting Thessaloniki's historical significance, multiculturalism, and strategic location. Stressing the importance of connectivity for the city's growth, he discussed the challenges in current mobility, advocating for infrastructure development like the metro, the Flyover project, and road extensions. Finally, he lauds contributions to Thessaloniki's future by companies like #MYTILINEOS, promoting regional development through infrastructure projects. Στο Construction Project Management Conference της Boussias Events, ο Antonis Papantoniou, Executive Member of the BoD και General Manager - Infrastructure Projects της #ΜΕΤΚΑ ΑΤΕ, ανέλαβε τον λόγο στο panel με θέμα: «Challenges of the Greek Construction Industry coping with permacrisis». O κ. Antonis Papantoniou υπογράμμισε την τεχνογνωσία και τον κρίσιμο ρόλο της #ΜΕΤΚΑ ΑΤΕ στην υποδομή, συμβάλλοντας σημαντικά στην ανάπτυξη της χώρας και της ευρύτερης περιοχής. Μίλησε για τις προκλήσεις στη βιομηχανία, αναφέροντας την ανάγκη ειδικευμένου προσωπικού, εκσυγχρονισμού των κατασκευών και υψηλής ρευστότητας. Όπως επεσήμανε, η πιο σημαντική πρόκληση είναι η κλιματική αλλαγή. Κλείνοντας, υπογράμμισε πως στα έργα με μελετοκατασκευή είναι αναγκαίος ο σωστός σχεδιασμός (προμελέτες), οι έγκαιρες ενέργειες που επηρεάζουν την πορεία ενός έργου και η ένταξη και εφαρμογή νέων τεχνολογιών. Happy New Year 2024!

Μιλώντας στο 6ο Συνέδριο Υποδομών και Μεταφορών – #ITC2023, ο Αντιπρόεδρος και Διευθύνων Σύμβουλος της #METKA ΑΤΕ Ντίνος Μπενρουμπή, τόνισε τη σημασία των ΣΔΙΤ και των Παραχωρήσεων για την εύρυθμη ανάπτυξη των Δημόσιων Έργων, καθώς μπορούν να διασφαλίσουν ότι οι εργασίες θα γίνουν με τις απαραίτητες δικλείδες ποιότητας και εντός χρονοδιαγράμματος, κυρίως λόγω ιδιωτικής επενδυτικής χρηματοδότησης και ενεργού ανάμιξης των δανειστριών τραπεζών. Επίσης αναφέρθηκε στην αναγκαιότητα εξεύρεσης λύσεων σε προβλήματα που ταλανίζουν τον κλάδο, όπως οι ανατιμήσεις των υλικών και του κόστους εργασίας, η έλλειψη εξειδικευμένου προσωπικού όλων των βαθμίδων αλλά κυρίως εργατοτεχνικού, αλλά και η δυσχέρεια προόδου των θεμάτων μεταξύ εμπλεκόμενων υπουργείων. Τέλος δήλωσε ότι, η ΜΕΤΚΑ, αξιοποιώντας και την μεγάλη εμπειρία της MYTILINEOS S.A., ως κορυφαίου διεθνώς κατασκευαστή ενεργειακών έργων και ως επενδυτή σε αυτά, αλλά και με την σημαντική οικονομική στήριξη που λαμβάνει από την #MYTILINEOS, προσδοκά να καθιερωθεί επάξια στον κλάδο κατασκευής υποδομών. Πρόσθεσε τέλος ότι η ΜΕΤΚΑ θα είναι παρούσα, όπως και το σύνολο του κατασκευαστικού κλάδου, στην εθνική προσπάθεια για την αποκατάσταση των ζημιών από τις πρόσφατες πλημμύρες. Elenos Karaindros, President of M Concessions, speaking at the 7th Infrastructure & Transport Conference #ITC2023 underlined that PPPs, concessions, but also unsolicited proposals can be an important tool in the State's quiver in relation to the implementation of its overall planning regarding upgrading existing infrastructure and developing new ones. Regarding the progress of tenders for concessions and PPPs, he emphasized the need for the procedures to work and evolve dynamically, so as to keep up with the current conditions and the particularities of the projects. The private sector will contribute constructively to the progress of all projects, while both the new companies M METKA and M Concessions will be an aid to the State, in order to help improve the country's infrastructure and the optimal utilization of resources. Ο Έλενος Καραΐνδρος, Πρόεδρος της M Concessions, μιλώντας στο 7ο Συνέδριο Υποδομών και Μεταφορών #ITC2023 υπογράμμισε ότι τα ΣΔΙΤ, οι παραχωρήσεις, αλλά και τα unsolicited proposals δύναται να αποτελέσουν σημαντικό εργαλείο στη φαρέτρα της Πολιτείας σε σχέση με την υλοποίηση του συνολικού της σχεδιασμού περί αναβάθμισης υπαρχουσών υποδομών και ανάπτυξης νέων.   Σχετικά με την πρόοδο των διαγωνισμών για παραχωρήσεις και ΣΔΙΤ, τόνισε την ανάγκη οι διαδικασίες να λειτουργούν και να εξελίσσονται δυναμικά, ώστε να συμβαδίζουν με τις εκάστοτε συνθήκες και τις ιδιαιτερότητες των έργων. Ο ιδιωτικός τομέας θα συμβάλει εποικοδομητικά στην πρόοδο όλων των έργων, ενώ και οι δύο νέες εταιρείες Μ ΜΕΤΚΑ και Μ Concessions θα είναι αρωγός της Πολιτείας, προκειμένου να συνδράμουν στη βελτίωση των υποδομών της χώρας και τη βέλτιστη αξιοποίηση των πόρων.
