𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐕𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐬 – 𝐑𝐢𝐠, 𝐘𝐚𝐣𝐮𝐫, 𝐒𝐚𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐚. Tradition and textual evidence tell us that they were given by God to the first four Rishis 1.9 billion years ago. They were revealed in a very ancient form of Sanskrit. They are written in Mantras, most of them metrical. Some, especially in the Yajur Veda, are not metrical. 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 – 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚: Action is a conscious effort with a definite purpose in life. The intent behind Action should be to merge the purpose of the Individual Soul with Cosmic Purpose. Selfless actions liberate, and selfish actions bind. The Path to True Freedom lies not in abstaining from Action, but in converting our intention. Our Actions must be compatible with Wisdom and must be complemented by Logical Thinking. 𝐊𝐫𝐢𝐲𝐚-𝐦𝐚𝐚𝐧𝐚: These are actions that a person is currently performing of his own free will. These actions are not influenced by compulsions of any past Karma. They have not yet sprouted in preparation for bearing fruits. They are like new seeds ready to be stored in the causal body. 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐚: These are actions that are already performed and stored in one’s casual body. They are reserved for fructification in some future circumstance- either in this life or a subsequent life. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐚’𝐫𝐚𝐛-𝐝𝐡𝐚: These are actions that either have already started bearing fruits or are awaiting favorable circumstances to sprout any moment soon.
